A while ago, I was trying to find info on shocks and the bike's stance. I wanted to go from hardtail struts to shocks so I could use the bike as a commuter. I purchased a set of Burly 10.5" shocks...
The ride is good...compared to hardtail, it's smoother and there are no spine busting bumps. I am 270 pounds and have only bottomed out the shocks a couple times on huge bumps...they do not make a heavy duty spring option...
They are plug and play with no modification. The only thing I had to modify was my taillight/license plate bracket (which was easy)......
Stance, for me, is perfect...low without rubbing AT ALL...I'm running a 170 rear...

i have a set on my X. bottomed out a few times, i just cranked up the tension on them & that helped out. FF is also running a set on his SS.
if anyone wants to find them. go over to egay & just search Burley Slammers. you want the ones made for a Sportster. this mod takes about 10 min to change them out.

I ride 2 up with the wife. She is no skinny girl by no means and had an issue with the seat bolt cutting into the tire.I tightened them up and just about got the gouge worn off.lol.

I'm glad I read this! This will be a way cheaper route than progressive's. That's the reason I chose struts in the first place, until now! I'm gonna order a black set. They look solid!

I should be good then! I have a wife that is scared to death of motorcycles, but loves me enough to support my addiction and "solo operation"
