I have been stripping the retro red metal specs rattle can paint off. I put 4 coats of paint, but only 2 coats of clear. The paint dry really quicky and the local body shop guy told me its just like spraying sand. That is why I was getting scratches easy and only 2 coats of clear didnt help. So now I am going the right way with automotive paint and a paint gun. NO rattle can this time. Plus I am going with 4-5 coats of clear and water sand and buff out this time. Hopefully going with candy apple red with silver base coat. I all ready looked at House of Kolor. Here are some pics.

I sure hope so. I tried to get good pics. of tank, but I have been having problems with my old canon a80 powershot digital camera. Sometimes the pics. turn out dark or they will be pink tint . I have had it since 06. I guess it time for a new one.

Ive gone to my local auto paint shop and had auto paint put into 16oz spray cans and it worked out ok. Not as good as a pro setup but ok. I think the cost was 22 a can.

My rattle cans was dupicolor. So I thought good quality, but I was wrong. Here is a 41 Willys that is candy apple red w/ lots of clear. I really like this color.

Here are pics. of brackets I have been working on. The muffler clamp is for the back of the gas tank. I use a muffler clamp (2") for the fuel pump too. Here is also the bigger battery box me and my dad made to hide more wires. We also doubled the floor for strenght and used flat bar metal for the mounting bracket. Not pic. is the shelf we made for the battery to sit on. I do have a battery cushion and the inside will be thick undercoated.

I just put a new hard drive in my laptop, which is an '07 Acer. It's just like a brand new computer! Only problem now, is that I need a new all in one printer/scanner cause the software for my old one isn't compatable with Windows 7! DAMMIT! It's ALWAYS something with these damn demon boxes! But at least my camera still works with it, along with most all my other stuff, just that damn printer, and I just put new ink cartriges in it just before my old hard drive took a nose dive!

You are a better man than I...I don't pay for work someone did not do, or better said, I don't pay for incompetence. If it was a dealership, specifically a Honda dealership, there is no way in Hades I would have paid them a dime!

The dealership I go to deals with more then just hondas. I felt sorry for them on all the things they tried and did to get them apart with no success. Thanks guys:grin: I tease people that I feel rich having a summer man cave and a winter man cave to put the bikes. I think bigdavyp is talking about the seat. Its the only place I have bones at. The wheels are just M. Twins 60 spoke.

Just joking about my butt and seat. I just figure I would beat people to it. I got alot of bolts torqued and throttle cables, clutch cable adjusted, and kickstand mounted, checked all electrical for problems and everything is working. Getting closer to mounting tank , seat, and exhaust. Pics. coming.

Getting things done to the Mutt. Installed petcock in gas tank then put gas tank on bike, then poured gas in, then Son of a bitch I got a leak, gas leaking over the motor fins, chain, and frame. The stuipd little o-ring in petcock was dried-up and was smaller then normal. Put new on in and fixed the leak, but now the paint has wrinkled down to the silver base coat. The only lucky thing is you cant see it unless you take a mirror to the underside of the bike. But all that work, time, and money almost lost over a little fuckin o-ring . I still will fix the wrinkled paint, so it wouldnt get any bigger or worst.

Really sorry to hear that Twizz. I almost didn't get the petcock back on my new tank after painting. They had painted the threads up and I had to end up taking a knife to them to dig out the paint. Fortunately, I haven't had any leaks yet. The bike is looking sick! I hope that the damage can be fixed. You have put a ton of work into that Mutt...

Thanks guys:grin: Soon will have pics. of it outside. I havent seen it outside the shed in the sun yet. My dad thinks the paint can be fixxed, but I would rather take it to the local body shop and have them fix it. Especially all assembled there is going to be alot of masking.

Nope, I was referring to one of your older pics of the Mutt. I'm pretty sure there was a skateboard wheel mounted as a chain tensioner. It was an old Bones wheel from Powell Peralta (late 80's - early 90's). Now you have a sprocket in place of it. Bike's lookin' damn good Kenny. I'm gonna have to roll up and see it in person.

I almost forgot about the skateboard wheel. It was the first product to fail on me. It was really hot that day I rode and the wheel just came apart. I called Monstercraftsman about it and they was surprised and thought I just got a hold of a bad wheel. They sent me the sprocket free of charge for the replacement. Good people to deal with.

Either color, that thing is still, "The Tits"! The Muttster turned out real purty, in a very masculine way...Odie most assuredly is proud to perch on that bike.

Thanks PP..........I just wish it sparkled more. The silver base coat sparkled real good and I only put 2 coats of red trying not to cover too much silver flake. But I ended up with a nice apple red with just a few twinkles here and there.
