code- KN33
gets 33% off K&N filters at D2 for "limited time"- tried to find expiration, but no luck.
Here's link to the one for a Spirit (probably ace/aero as well- not 100% on compatability)
http://www.d2moto.com/p-6005-kn-air-filter-honda-vt750-shadow-1998-2007.aspx
works out to $39.10 + shipping after discount. Regular price is $58.36+ship

Nice! Thanks for the info, I'll be ordering one tonight! Anything I need to order with it? I heard the oil is sold separate or cleaning kit or something...not sure.

Naw, they come pre-oiled...just install and go. You might also need to rejet.

Thanks for the help, guys! Found it on Amazon for $38 with free shipping! Just ordered it.

How will I know if it needs re-jetted? What all does that entail and how expensive it?

If you need to rejet, the bike will run like crap (probably). Since it will be lean, it will probably pop/backfire on decel. You should be able to just adjust the A?F ratio screw to cure that. If you have or change to aftermarket exhaust, you will definitely need to rejet with a jet kit from dynojet or similar. It is about $100, and entails pulling the carbs and changing them out. It isn't too hard if you are at all mechanically inclined. Search on rejetting and pilot or mixture adjustment to see what I am talking about.

Man, thanks for all the help! Guess we'll just have to see what happens after I put the filter in. And yes, it has straight pipes on it already. I bought the bike with them on and it already pops and gurgles when I decelerate, so I'm thinking I will definitely have to rejet.

left side of screen> modifications>>intake>>thunder mfg install and rejet
this will be your rejet instructions. can't tell ya where to start with jet sizes, but do some searching on here and you should be able to figger it out. If not, McV might be willing to put his cape on and come save you
***pops and gurgles may be your a/f screws. those would be the first thing I'd check- no need to pull carbs to adjust them

Odd, that's what they were two days ago. Didn't know Amazon fluctuated price like that. They also have a deal for free shipping, no strings attached. The filter has already shipped so I should have next week.

I believe ya Dustin... I found it odd too. Free shipping still makes it a good deal!
