I was just quoted by muralpop dot com for $250 for a 'smokey skull' wrap for my tank. I've been considering this for a while now. The graphics are high end and will look like a very expensive custom paint job. It's really only limited to your imagination and design skills (if you design your own).
I figure the wrap will last at least a few years, after all, they wrap boats.
And switching out the graphics would be relatively inexpensive, especially when compared to real paint.
This would be perfect for sport bikes, but I see no reason why my 07C2 wouldn't look custom as well.
Anyone ever consider this?

I do vinyl work on the side. The only issue I see would be the curves really being difficult to heat and mold around. I've got a buddy who's worked somewhere doing wraps. I'd have to ask him what he thinks.
But if you already got a quote for a tank and they said they can do it, I guess it's possible. It's a great alternative to paint and it will actually protect your paint if you ever want to sell the bike and get rid of the custom stuff. I was going to do some custom vinyl stenciling for painting on my bike, But I figured I'd much rather just do vinyl decal graphics because I can take it off when I get rid of it.

The site has a few examples of wrapped bikes, and if the process is refined enough, I could see this being a cool option on the relative cheap. I wonder, though, why this isn't very popular now...

I have, my brother does wraps and a tank like ours would be next to impossible to do without a splice at the front. It is far too complex a curve to do. And any graphic in that area would be intensely distorted. Now, if you are talking hydrographics, completely possible and looks good as well. If done right, it will last a long time for sure and far cheaper then a custom paint job.
What site is this? I would love to take a look.
Just looked at the above link and you can see the difference between our tanks, and that one. That one would be hard to do, but not nearly as difficult as ours.

I was thinking of doing forgiving graphics like random skulls in smoke.
