I was wondering why everyone is runnin' the Metz tire for the 200 mod on SS750's. Is there any benefit? I'm looking at the AVON Venom. Is that a bad tire?
-Thanks

supposedly the metz tires aren't as prone to "swelling" at high speeds. I bought the metz for durability and ' cause I gotta better deal on it than the avon :-)

Can you toss a fat tire on an ACE? I'd like one but haven't every heard of it.

There were a few over at TSW running the Avon that mentioned the tire compound may be a little hard, not as good for traction as the metz. I have a friend with an Avon Venom on his V-star and he is not happy with the tire and it's traction. He says it's horrible in rain.
I have no issues with the metz I have on my bike.

Yes you can run a 200 on the ACE.
The avon dosn't grip very good on wet pavment and metz me 200 is designed not to swell much at highway speeds so you have less chance of rubbin on the subframe.

At a $100 cheaper is the Avon a decent way to go or should I pay the difference and stick with the Metz?

Sounds like the Metz is the way to go. And right now Cruiser Customizing has these on sale.
