View Full Version : Getting to the fuel mixture screws

ive been told you have to drill out the plugs to adjust the mix screws but i dont know what im drilling. does anyone have a picture. its a 98 shadow ace 750 and this is my carb.
Really should post on the introduce yourself before you make a thread....I see you put a picture in your gallery so I'll help you out. BTW: just so you know there is another a/f screw on the other side

X2 u really want these guys to get to know u before diggin info out of them. Once the rules are followed they are harmless, mostly. I'm glad you posted this cuz I'm dealin with the same issue.

thanks for replying. drilled out both holes and got em adjusted. my bike was back firing something feirce before. now i have to rap it out and let it drop all the way to back fire. not to mention the added throttle i have at 70 mph now. i really appreciate it.

Anybody have an image like this of the vlx600 carbs around 1996? With my factory pipes back on I'm still backfiring through the exhaust and sputtering at WOT.

Sounds to me like your mains are wrong if sputtering at wot. A/F screw only affects the idle circuit.
