I'm going to be skinning my gas tank, side covers and fenders with a carbon fiber/kevlar hybrid mesh in the very near future. If you guys could use a write up on how it's done give me a shout and I'll take pictures one step at a time and post a how-to here.

This is how I did my headlight bucket and visor, rad cover and lower fork legs. Also the centers of my struts. Very giving product with heat. I didn't use an actual heat gun as a normal hair dryer did the trick for me. I thought about doing my tank, but there are so many satin, flat black bikes out there. I like the look of the red, chrome, white and flat black set up I have. the red pops IMO.

Looking forward to your write up.

Just to clarify.... When I say carbon fiber skinning I'm talking actual carbon fiber mesh along with high quality expoy resin, lots of sanding and a UV protective clear coat and not that carbon fiber looking sticker stuff.

have you gotten anywhere on this project? I am thinking about doing this to my front and rear fender since they both could use some refinishing anyway.

Had some medical issues come up, I'm not doing so well. It's the next project I'm going to tackle so I'll keep you updated.
