Hey, I just went thru 1st tank after installing hypercharger. I was expecting a little drop but holy fuck. 35mpg is what I ended up with. Does that seem a little extreme to you guys or were my expectations way off?

you lost about 5-7mpg, so thats probably about right. the 1300 only get between 40-42mpg, installing bigger jets & sucking more air, you're gonna lose it.

On top of the mechanical changes there is a physical change as well...I grantee you were probably not riding the same way you normally do and you were more in the throttle than you normally ride. Try to ride at least one tank WITH OUT hammering the throttle.

Just because the power is there it is normal to try to abuse the hell out of it.

That was a softball...that describes 99.99% of the guys here...and the other 0.01% are women and it describes them too!

Did you shim the carb or use a jet kit? Some more detail would help.

I have a chopped airbox with 2.5 turns on the AF and 2 shims, get about 40mpg and I'm usually pretty hard on the throttle.

Same here DC, I got the SCAR mod on the Carb and the SPyKER mod on the airbox now, but i did go from 43-45+ mpg down to about 38-40 depending on how often i hammer the throttle when riding around town.

I have found that steady expressway rides at 75+ drops me to 35mpg or less depending how how far above the 75 mark and for how long.

The unit came with jets and a .8 shim that was designed for that bike w/cobra exhaust.
I haven't touched the AF cause it's running great w/o any pops or misfires.

Sounds good however keep in mind that you can run rich without decel popping or misfiring. As I'm not sure how experienced you are I can only recommend checking color of spark plugs when the engine's cooled down. If colors are good, I suppose that'd be your definite MPG.
