The color scheme, the plaid... I'm pretty sure that's Jan Brady's scoot.

She came to mind immediately when I saw your old paint, don't ask me why, senility I suppose. I searched on Jan Brady and that picture popped right up. I said, "yup, just as I suspected, that's Jan Brady's old bike."
here we go this is the final coat on the tank before i start clearing it

I'm confused, please don't take this as an insult; is that the desired effect? or was it supposed to be smooth and shiny?

I think it is bed liner with a clear coat??? At least that's what the overlarge pictures remind me of! Hard to tell when all the pictures are so "up-close" looking!
Also not wanting to be insulting either!

The color scheme sucked but.........it already had a perfect layout on the bike to change it to a black and white checkerboard look!
Missed opportunity in my opinion.
Much preferred than the bed-liner with glitter look.
Putting clear coat on it just ........

If that's a rattlecan flake job, you're not gonna get a good result w/ rattlecan clear. As long as you're happy w/ the results...

with that much texture, you're not gonna get good results with ANY kind of clear!

Definitely not my cup of tea. If your gonna do clear, you want is smooth as silk. Looks like you did truck bedliner. I've seen it done here before. Not a huge fan of it, but it looks ok when flat black. Clear on it kind of ruins it. But it is your bike, and if you like it, that's all that matters. JMHO

I dig it man. I'm a bouncer and I ride to work every weekend. I have gotten 3 noticeable scratches in the past 4 months. (drunk assholes touching my shit) I may be leaning towards this if my Plastidip paint job doesn't last.

Looking at your galley pictures the bike looks blue. Is it really purple?
When are you going for the dip paint?
Post some pictures! Wouldn't work on my bike, but some of it is really outstanding!
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Yeah I think in 03 the shadow spirits only came in two paint schemes dark purple with light purple flames and black with red flames. The cool part about the stock double layer paint is with the spray on Plastidip you can still see the original flames raised up a little bit. When I pull the pics off my old ladies phone I will post them.
