Has anyone in here tried the "new" Kuryakyn switchblade pegs? I bought a set and the mounts specific to our bikes. The switchblade has a swing-out stirrup for long rides. This gives the effect of having floorboards, but they don't get in the way in town. They also look really cool! Problem is... the shaft of the mount and the hole in the peg are both smooth. The only thing holding the peg stationary is the bolt. While this is great for regular pegs, when you deploy the stirrup and put any heel pressure on it, it rotates. I've contacted Ron in the tech dept at Kury, and he sent me a different mount (one with splines on it). Unfortunately it was for a Harley and wouldn't work on the Spirit. After contacting him a second time, he said they don't currently make a splines adapter for us. He suggested using a cold chisel to groove the mount but I was wondering if any of you have these and how you overcame the rotation problem.

Sory for the length of this post but I really need some ideas.... I'm about ready to go get some JB Weld!!!!!

Can you weld in a "stop" on the bottom side to keep it from rotating down?

That might work. I don't know much about welding, but both pieces are chromed. That might be a problem.

I've got the same pegs with the same problem. All I can think of doing it burring up the bottom and tack-welding them in place.

If you come up with any better ideas, I'm all ears!

take the switchblades and rough up the inside on the post. Then tighten it down good with locktite blue on the threads. I have a friend with them and that stopped to rotation problem for him.
