www.goodpenmanship.com (http://www.goodpenmanship.com) Dude! Site is awesome!! Looks GREAT! It makes me want to buy another pen!
Nice touch with the personal page. It is way cool to be able to see all of the styles, woods and finishes available. I will direct my friends there to check it out. Like I said, I still use the one I bought from you last year!
Keep up the good work man!

Site's looking good Clint. As Shadow said, the personal page is a nice touch.

You may want to look at having it so you can "blow up" the picture of the pen to full screen. Getting a close up of the fine details and workmanship would definately be an asset.
The pics you have a great, it'd just be nice to get an even bigger pic. Some of us are getting old......

I've been thinking of that. But the bigger you make it I'm afraid it'll lose the reolution. Besides, I'm not sure how to.:rolleyes3

There has to be web authoring software that allows for thumbnail viewing and cross linked to a bigger picture. Just make sure if/when you do it, you take the picture in the highest resolution you can. Should keep the pics looking good when blowed up. :rolleyes3

That's just from one supplier. Their are a couple hundred styles. The next "biggie" that I'll be working on is a rattlesnake skin fountain pen.
I sometimes get grief about using some o the "endangered" wood. I'm thinking about setting up a donation thing where $1 or 10% or something goes to help save the rainforest. Figured that would get the treehuggers on board:bucktooth

Any comments are welcome, the more feedback I get the better I can make it.

I'm married to a wonderful woman, Susan, who is my unofficial quality control officer. I also have three great kids, Jennifer and Elizabeth, my twin 16 year olds and Matthew my 13 year old son. And if that's not enough we have, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 4 lizards and a fish.

" Not to mention all the deer that seem to have adopted my yard as home."

-(THATS WERE I GET THE ANTLERS FROM, FOR MY PENS)-

SITE LOOKS KILLER DUDE.KEEP IT UP...I LIKE THE STARS AND STRIPES PEN.

Looks Good Clint...
Heres some sample code I use for picture manupilation...
<
a href="/icons/bg/bass_large.jpg" target="_blank" height="150" width="150" (http://www.shadowriders.net/icons/bg/bass_large.jpg)
<
img src="/icons/bg/bass_small.jpg " (http://www.shadowriders.net/icons/bg/bass_large.jpg)
>

What this does is, you click on a small picture.. then a separate window will open up with the Big Picture..... so you will need to 2 pics... 1 big... 1 small....

target="_blank" height="150" width="150" ..... (this opens up the big picture in a NEW window) (height 150 pixels) (width 150 pixels) set these nubers to what ever you size of your picture is in pixels...

this is the location of the small pic that is on the page when your first view it).... (you already have this line in your page)

dig it????

I hope this helps... email me if you need some advice on getting this baby to work good and proper!

Clint. The site is looking awsome! Tiny gave me one of your pens and I really love it! I would suggest you put some naked pictures of Susan up to help your business! As far as the tree huggers go, you are using scraps of wood compared to the houses those fuckers all live in! What good are exotic hardwoods if nobody ever gets to see them.

I'm glad you got one. What wood was it in? If you have any problems with it as far as the plating or the twist mechanism let me know.

Ya know, if you were a nice guy, you'd send a testimonial to me for the site.

I moved all the high end pens to a local art gallery on consignment. At least I get the advertising out of it. He has exclusive rights to sell my stuff in Milford, and in the spring he's going to have me at his gallery for a weekend doing demonstrations and stuff as his featured artist.

I got the tiger maple. Really beautiful! If I was a nice guy, I would send a testimonial...... but...... well, I wouldn't want to let you I was a good guy!

The art gallery should be a really great spot to market your pens! Good exposure. Those high end pens are really cool! I bet they are a lot of work! I thought about doing that but never tried it. I like to build things.

Keep up the good work and you will be successful with it!

The tiger maple is nice stuff. I had a ton of it. I bought it a few years ago for some picture frames. I used what was left for pen blanks.

I've only sold one off of the site so far. But hopefully the ones in the gallery in town sell. I'm also placing a few ads locally. I need to get the name out there, a lot of people pick these up as graduation gifts.
I need to figure out how to get the site to come up on Yahoo and Googles searches.

I really appreciate everyone's comments on the site. The more input I get the better I can make it. So keep the comments coming, good or bad.

:idea2: There are several guys on the site that run web pages. I bet they could tell you how to get it to come up on the search engines. Try a new thread and ask. Good luck!

WELL DONE!

This site really speaks out. Excellent job. You got a great product, stick it through, and in time you will end up with more orders than you can imagine.

I like the set you have for the Pen and Letter Opener. Have you given any thoughts to providing a desk set ? Pen, Mechanical Pencil and Letter Opener on a handsome fine wood base, would be a great gift. With the kind of workmanship you do, it would definitely be a good market item for executives etc.

I can get the stuff to do them. But that's a lot of inventory to carry without any preorders. I'm kinda stuck right now, I have some unmade pens and stuff. But I'm always running out of either wood, antler, pen or pencil kits. I've been trying to build an inventory of at least 50. But unless some stuff starts selling either at the gallery or on the site. Things have come to a bit of a screeching halt for now. I'll build the kits I have left in the shop and then that's gonna be it for a while.

I do have a pen/letter opener set that I've been wanting to do with the Rhodium finish. I just placed a sizable wood order and I want to see what it looks like before I commit to some of the wood I have here.

It is tough getting started, but you have a quality product and eventually that will sell itself. Just take it one step at a time. I am sure a lot of people will give you advice on new products (like the desk set), but don't bite into them until you are ready. Big mistake many make is biting off more than they can handle and the end result is a failed endeavor.

You need to spider your name throughout ALL the web search engines. Ask BRONCO - he is pretty sharp in that area. He would be glad to assist in this matter, or Pegs and I will make his life miserable. :glasses: In fact he is working on my creating my corporate web site at this momment. I will spread you link to some of my clients as well.

Whatever you do - dont give up. The product will eventually make its mark and sell itself.
