Okay guys, I have a background in GM small blocks and diesel equipment and these small foreign carburetors are kicking my butt!!! I have spark to the front cylinder but no fuel. The rear cylinder runs just fine as well as the carb supplying that cylinder works just fine. This bike was wrecked in 2009 and has ran off and on just fine until now (of course it starts acting up when I have everything to get it road worthy again). I have blown and cleared all vaccum and fuel lines going to both carbs as well as any "Y" or "T" type fittings in the respective plumbing. New fuel filter and fresh clean 91 octane fuel. I know our owners manual calls only for 87 octane but I was under the impression that higher octane is generally more stable as well as helps to clean out clogged jets. I have taken, what I would call, the top diaphragm cover to check the rubber to see if it was torn or cracked and it's not. It actually looks brand new. I have to be missing something simple. Any and all help is appreciated in advance.

I hate to say this but just pulling the vaccum piston cover & looking at the needle jet diaphragm is not gonna help, blowing all out is good, checking spark, fuel etc. good, but the carbs in my opinion, need to be pulled, COMPLETELY dissassembled tanked for 24hrs in a badass carb cleaner (without the rubber pcs), all jets have to be removed including the a/f jet on the bottom that requires a "special tool" (a 5.56mm or 6.5jap spent round flattened on one side will work). Blow out all of the orifaces with compressed air & a common air blower with chuck, re-assemble accordingly & remember with the a/f jet to tighten it down & relieve it by 3-3.5 turns. Synching the carbs may be tricky as I have never synched bike carbs only cars. Im no pro here by any means...I just tanked my carb this week for a similar problem. You have to be able to see through the jets. Some crap may have gotten in the carb or you may have rust in your tank.
This is not the gospel here, just my opine.

P.s. This quote is from a prior thread & is courtesy of McV (He knows a shitload more than I)
"If you haven't already pulled the carbs, do so. Use a couple of cans of carb cleaner on every square inch of the inside of the float chamber.....remove the main jets and the tower and spray the carb cleaner into the openings and into all the ports, remove the A/F screw and throughly clean, remove the float and the float valve and spray the carb cleaner into the float valve seat, which also has a filter, remove the slow jet and clean it and it's port, all those jets and ports and towers need to be sprayed down and cleaned.......now put it all back together adjust the A/F to 3-3 1/2 and you should be good to go. Oh did I mention that you need to remove the vacuum diaphragm and not get carb cleaner on it, with it removed clean the jet needle and it's respective needle jet port."

Cruffler, thanks man. I feel this may be a bit outside of my wheel house but I have a few friends here locally that have basically said the same thing you and McV have stated and they're willing to lend a hand so hopefully I'll get this squared away soon. Thanks again!

Thanks for all the info guys. I just pulled tha bad carb and cleaned all the jets. She runs great now. That B-12 Chemtool is some good stuff. Yesterday was the first time I've rode since my wreck to years ago....words can't describe how awesome that felt.

A suggestion to you or anyone taking something unfamiliar apart for the first time. Take close up pictures with your digital camera step by step as you take it apart. That way you have a visual reference as you put it back together.

Just an idea.
