Used to be alot of modding,and alot less random stuff.Dont get me wrong.
We still need a good porn section,or at least a member showing off his fine lady at least once a week,but something just feels different.
Maybe everyone is just busy.I understand that completely! I pulled 14 1/2
hours yesterday at work.I was almost at 1100 post when the old site died,and I swear at least 900 of them really had something to do with something.Shit
I probably had more how to mod pics than everyone combined!! lol

Also, there are a few people that are taking classes, going to school etc. I just finished taking my County and State Real Estate exam. Quite frankly, I need a vacation from cramming all that information into my brain and studying so much. I think you don't see the discussions on mods as much since the mod sections are pretty much a rebuild of the other site.

The original thread was lost so we just posted a link to a tutorial somewhere, without all the discussions.

You also have to remember that some folks, like Susan and me, are waiting for parts to finish our bikes. Hence nothing to talk about except "Save Toby"

I try to offer tips and advice to newer members and strike up a conversation, within my scope of knowledge, but if you look in some of the mod posts. People sign up ask a question and are never heard from again.

There's almost 200 members and most have 1 or 0 posts. In order to keep the banter going new people have to step up. (Shadow and I can't do it all) Not make one post and delete the site from your favorites when you get an answer.

The senior members (Fegs, Flox, Menace, Hero, Nok) are doing there own thing. Some are working and some are in school, one even has a whole new family to learn about. I really enjoy bullshitting with all of them and in time things will be back to normal. (or some version of it)

Thanks for mentioning me as being missed.

I get on a read a lot but I have been real busy. For those of you that helped with my little experiement with my website, you saw a glimpse of why. I am trying to re-image my business. Also I do a ton of wedding videos and I am coming into wedding season in about 3 weeks. I will only have 2 Saturdays off between April 2nd and mid-July. I am doing 6 weddings in May and if you look in your calendars there are only 4 Saturdays. And don't get me wrong I am not complaining about that. More Weddings = More Money.

I think this board has not hit its stride. It took a while for the old board to do the same. But when it did we were getting 5 members a day and everyone was climbing in the rankings.

It will happen again.

I feel that way too Tangled . I spent a buttload of money on my bike recently and am waiting on parts . I have some stuff to install that I am doing today and some stuff I did this week . I have met some new riding/wrenching friends recently in the real world . I have spent alot more time drinking beer and wrenching with them . Going out and riding with them . I got drunk and ran my mouth here and probibly pissed off a few people that I like and respect . I was a little scared to log back on . I got to think about how all the stuff I liked about the old board had not quite made the transition and weather or not I should even bother with it . I don't think anybody wants the play by play on my projects . I have not even tried to learn how to resize and post pics . I had alot of questions when I first got my bike and now I have a much better idea on what I want and what I am doing .

Been reading this forum since August while looking to get back into
motorcycles. Bought a nice 86 1100 with 20K on it in October and
getting in as much saddle time as weather allows. I average
riding to work at least once a week and like everybody else
can hardly wait for GOOD weather.

I'm a pretty good shade tree mechanic with 35 years experience
learning from mistakes.

Who's mad? I was just concerned that I wasn't using the proper terminology. The term biker to me is not a negative thing. It is just people that choose to ride. I would have considered everyone here a biker. No offence to anyone that thinks of the word in a negative context.

Seriously though. I'm new to the whole modding thing. Got bored about a month ago and did a Yahoo search for customizing Honda Shadows and now here I am.
I don't have alot of technical stuff to add to site yet. Can't afford too many mods right now, Gotta pay for Atlantic City trip for next month and bill just came in for Patriots season tickets. Anywho, I have learned alot on this and the old forum. And thanks to alot of you guys I now have a nice list of things I want to do to my bike! I have a good time on here and have made what I consider alot of new friends. Ilook forward to learning more and laughing more.

Let me address this in a couple of parts.
As far as your thread on your bike project. I was one that read it and the other resposes to it. I agreed with the things that were said in it and didn't feel the need to add anything. Personally I like springers, but don't know enough about them to offer any suggestions.

And as far as "saving toby"...well get over it. It's part of what makes this site fun for me and a hell of a lot of other people. Your post currently has 126 views and 15 replies, toby has 240 views and 35 replies, what does that tell you about the demographics here? Your post actually has a higher percentage than poor old toby.

Although I am in no way slamming, flaming, or bashing you I just wanted to draw a small parallel and show what is being looked at.

As far as your project goes, I think it looks great and would like to see the springer installed

Check in USER CP under the heading on the left EDIT OPTIONS. On the field that opens on the right, scroll down to THREAD DISPLAY OPTIONS. You'll see display options there, make sure whatever preference is there for displaying threads is decending.
