View Full Version : How much compression should I have?

Just wondering how much compression the vlx is supposed to have. I still cant get my bike to run right its like off time or something an it ran before i customized it its weird. Tried cdi cleaned carb dont know what else it can be

got a local honda dealer? some times they are total ass holes, I have 3 in my state, 1 is crap, 1 is okay... and the 3rd is great, they answer questions and help alot.
Best be is start at parts, explain, and if they dont know they will grab a mech to come out... worth a shot!

Have you checked the spark? The cause is either wiring, fuel, air or timing. If you didn't mess with the timing, that's probably not it. Go backwards from the mods you did and check for simple mistakes. Like not grounding a coil, crossed the plug wires etc... Hope that helps.

BTW. Water in the gas often seems like a timing problem.

according to the hanes manual 12.26---14.22 bars..........or 178-----206psi.....

the hanes manual has spoken

I got spark but no fuel is it possible only one sides getting fuel? I can see through the pilot jet but it looks a little dirty like the hole isnt perfect when looking through. Could that be it

Yep bad fuel delivery can make for a shitty running machine.......
