To get it out of the way... Who's first to tell me "Noob, fuck off"?

Here's the question, I want to go the flat back paint route and do it the easy way (shake can). And, yes, I've searched for the topic and gotten some info but not all.

So, what's the best wayfor teank and fenders?

Assuming...
1) Scuff all and clean for adhesion.
2) Spray primer
3) Spray flat black
4) Spray flat top coat.

Between 3 & 4 I want to lay in some pinstriping.

That it? Any tips? Brands that are better to use?

Thanks.

Also, did the billski tail mod, 2" fork extensions and Cheznoh's risers -- couldn't be happier with that stuff if anyone is looking to do. Also, got the tradewinds headlight -- good easy mod, too.

What kind of pinstrips? VonDutch? Is there going to be any clearcoat?

For the pistripes I found a company that does Von Dutch looking die-cut vinyl.

I was thinking a flat clear coat, so I can clean the tank and any gas drips won't be an issue.

About right?

Definatley a nice site. i think I'm going to get the Black " Killa Skulls" and put on my tank! Which hopefully the bike will be painted yellow soon!

The best finish (as I understand) is to use an epoxy primer. Yeah, you'll get better results using conventional equipment, but if you can find it in an aerosol go for it. You can always prep and paint a finish over it.

For expert advice you can contact Lu over at ScooterPuzzles dot Com

Well, I got done pinstriping my bike (pics in my gallery) but even when finished, I still wasn't fully into having a silver bike. So, off came the pinstripes (and everytining else - sanding discs rule) and I began the process of painting.

I'm going a semi-flat -- kind of like the color of all the Exile Cycles. I'm a few coats in and I'll finsih and reassemble this weekend.

I'm trying to put on a bunch of coats so that I'll have the ability to rough it up with like 400 grit to get the shine off if I get any oil or crap (not, literally, I hope) on it.

So, hopefully as a side effect it'll be faster now, too.

All done.... Not too difficult and I dig the results.
Photos are in my gallery.
Can't beat the price either - about $10 of paint, $8 of sandpaper and a painter's mask....
