Hi Guys
I know this is probably not the good thread but everybody reads these ones so here it goes. I have replaced the stock airfilter with a K&N one and got open slashcut pipes. On low rpm while opening the gas it feels like the motor chokes... it will probably need adjusting of the air/fuel mixture. I got a dual carb and my vlx is of 1993.
I have searched the threads and came up with the answer of changing the mixture but where are the damm screws to do so and am i right about the changing the mixture?
Hope you can help a Dutch noob out.
Pete
They are towards the lower part of the carb.
If you dont see them thats cause they have prob never been touched, and they are covered.
Look for a DIY for jetting, and check out pics...
There is a small tab where the a/f is that needs to be drilled and popped out.

Being that you've done both pipes and a K&N, I'd be willing to bet you need a stage 1 jet kit now........my02.

With Cobras and the K&N, which is in fact a much more free flow air filter than the stock, letting in half again as much air as the stock filter, adjusting the A/F on the VLX won't do the trick for ya Bubba...........

Thanks McV for the info. As it looks i have gotten myself in some trouble with the alterations :)
U need to jet i would just email dyno jet an they will tell u how to set it. Like which jets an how many turns out but tell them what your running on your bike filter exhaust an where your located how high above sea level etc.
