I'm over due on my valve adjustment check my 600 mile checkup.

I have a tappet that sounds pretty loose and would like to purchase a Honda line tappet adjustment tool either new or used before I tear it down for a valve check!

I know they are not really necessary or needed for the adjustment, but they do seem to help the need for three hands using normal tools. :crazy3:

Where is a good place to start for the OEM tool buying?

Maybe someone on the forum has one they will part with?

Google will have all the answers you need, since I am in a good mood I will provide you with the link to the tool. 33 bucks, just suck it up and buy it, you will need it again.

Thanks, I found this tool set in several locations on MY searches of Google :happy2:along with several other styles and brands some as low as $13.00.

I was wanting an OEM tool if I could find one.

The one I had in mind was tool #07908·KE90100 Which I have not had much success in finding on Google.

I had one that I had for years until I loaned it out and never got it back.
The SOB left town with it!

As a last resort I will go to the local stealer and order another one and pay through the back pocket!

I was hoping that someone had one for sale or knew of a cheaper source of OEM tools.

Next stop.....eBay......:pirate::sad:

Thanks Shadow! I bookmarked that one. I'd pay $33 for Motion Pro before I paid $15 for OEM tools.

Hi Beaker, :happy2: I'm sorry for being so picky about my tools but the Honda OEM tool is much better than the Motion Pro tools.
I wish I could find one of them for $15.00.

They are quite a bit higher in price and quality than the Motion pro tools which you would only be paying $11.00 for the one size that you use.
$33.00 for three tools make them about $11.00 each.

If price is any indication than the one at

would probably be adequate too but it isn't what I want to work with.

I have Googled on that exact same tool for $36.00 to over $70.00 while I was looking for the one I like. So I say "Buyer Beware" when buying on-line!

I was very specific that I wanted the Hondaline tool when I asked the group if there were any for sale by a member or a recommended place to buy at less than retail at the dealers.

Probably very good advice, :happy2: but I do like doing my own work rather than relying on the idiots at my Stealer.

It would have to be more serious in nature than valve adjustment for me to use their service crew.

The next nearest dealer is 20 miles away and not any better in skill sets.

The next two dealers are over 120 miles away and the next is about 300 miles.

You should have seen the crew at the local dealer trying to put my battery in the new bike that I bought from them. Chinese fire drills would absolutely amaze them with their expertise! :thumbsdow

Shadow, after reading my mail again, I feel like I didn't properly thank you enough for your information, I always appreciate any help I can get.

I didn't post until almost two days of searching on line with both Google and Bing for an OEM tool and had passed over buying the one you posted about several dozen times in my searches.

The funny part is the spread of prices for the same product. As low as $10.00+ change and some priced to over $70.00.

I'm sure that it might be a good tool, but having owned a OEM tool I guess I am spoiled. :dizzy:

I might if I'm very lucky be able to borrow the one from the dealer...if they can find it!

I've always had good luck with motion pro tools. All the dirtbike mags swear by them, so I figure they are pretty good.

I suppose a company is only as good as the people that run it.

Maybe they need to do some internal auditing...starting with their tech department!:thinking2
