It wasn't so funny at the time, but I'm laughing about it now. I was rolling down rt 60 E thru a curve that takes you about 150 degrees around a high bank. You countersteer the whole way thru it to keep your lean and stay in your lane. About the middle of the curve a Harley rolls up beside me with drag pipes only about 14" long. I was ignoring him, carefully holding my lean at 70 or so. You couldn't even hear my bike for the sound of his pipes. Maybe he wanted attention or just thought it was funny, but he popped the clutch and made the engine roar. Loudest bike I ever heard. It was so loud it startled me and I bobbled my bike for a moment.
He's laughing as he pulls away. (Immediately followed by a guy in a Porsche who looked kinda' pissed.) It was a bit mean, but kinda funny. Maybe he did it to the guy in the Porshe, and he didn't have a sense of humor!

If somebody does it again, get them back...

I learned about this from a friend on another forum...

If your bike has carbs and straight pipes then this should work...

Get you bike up to 4th at a low speed and hit the kill switch (only for a second) before turning the kill switch back on dump some fuel into the carbs with a twist of the throttle... then throw the kill switch back on and gun it...

The bike should let off a pretty good back fire with all that leftover Gas! It works with my bike so I don't see why it wouldn't with yours. :jamming:

Oh and it works best when they're behind you to the right (duh).

Ya know, Karma being the Bitch she is, the last I saw of that bike, he was doing some real fancy evasive maneuvers with the Porsche biting at his heels. Those Porches handle pretty good! :grin3:

I was riding home from work the other nite and a V-Rod pulled up behind me. I couldn't hear my bike at all anymore and he kept reving it up. Damn, the thing sounded mean and not like a Harley at all. Made me realizeI NEED louder pipes.

That's because it isn't really a Harley and Harley fans don't usually like the VRod.

As for Loud, what do you have on your bike right now?

I have some HK Strippers on mine and I absolutely love the sound but mine isn't a shadow or a VRod.

These are the HK'son my bike...

And here are some cobras on a shadow spirit but I didn't really Get on it and it was still loud.
