After i spend $180 to get it tagged and registered..i figured id hurry the hell up and get it inspected within the next hour..So I haul ass home throw a mirror on an the side covers and go..I get there with 30 mins left..check the blinkers and fail..they r shortin out ..gotte replace the connections , so thats not a big deal then the pipes..i have to have a muffler or baffle in there to pass. all thats fine..no biggie..well on my way back.it starts runnin like shit again..keep in mind that this is the first time its been on the street other then my road in 2 years..so im not wantin it to die on me lol..I have come to the conclusion that i cant for the fuckin life of me get this thing dialed in..i know its runnin rich as hell.. well i think anyway..wen i first go to start it if i touch the choke it dies every time..do any of yall with stage 1 kits and pipes have that problem..i can get it started without the choke it just takes time for it to get to runnin good..so im thnkin about buyin a small tach if there is one i can get and bumpin down the idle and turnin the mix screws out to get this bitch workin right..its fukin frustrating as hell to never be able to get it even runnin decent lol..so is there a tach i can buy somewhere guys??

btw guys im addin a few pix of what its lookin like at the moment

a stage one with cobras and a K&N....doesn't sound like you need a tach, sounds more like you need to sync your carbs, that thing should run like a raped ape with the set up you have.

lmao..ur the fukin man mcv..that made me laugh.. i only said tach because i cant tune this thing by ear..ur instructions said to raise the idle to 1100 and i have nooo idea where the fuck that is..so for me its like turn this known turn these screws ..fuk its not runnin right so turn this more that way and so on..i can go sync my carbs 2morrow..my bro n law has all the stuff just didnt think that was the major issue here but wtf do i know lol

get her to idle like you think it should with the idle screw....not to fast not to slow and take it from there, you'll still be able to hear the rear cylinder speed up and slow down when you adjust the mixture screw, get the rear mixture screw set right where it starts to speed up the idle then do the same for the front.....then sync the carbs., when it's as good as you can set the A/F.

My kilt-wearing friend is right (and he gets his advice from a parrot, really, he does); carbs need synched. I'd do that first, then see how she starts and runs. Piss around with the idle, you want it stumbling, almost stalling after warm up, then work on the a/f mix to tweak any backfiring, hesitation, etc.
