Ok guys and gals, I'm new to a lot of this so I'm going to ask a lot of stupid questions. Did a search, but didn't really find the answers I'm looking for.

I have an '03 SS 750 and would like to sit/lean back a little further. What's the best mod to do this? Lowering? Forward controls? Fork extensions? Pull back?

Originally, I thought of doing all the above, but my feeble brain is telling me that just one of those things will accomplish what I want and the rest will be more for appearance.

Can someone explain the ins and outs/pluses and minuses of each modification?

I know I want to lower it strictly for looks and seems the forward controls will be a little more comfortable.

Also should mention, in case it helps, I'm only about 5'7" 150lbs.

I will apologize now for all of the stupid questions I just may be bombarding you with. And yes, I do now how to use the search button, I promise to try that first.

The cheapest way to get your arms sitting back further by creating some more pull-back would be Chenzohs (http://www.chenzohs.com/) riser extensions. Or you can go up from that and get some bars from CP (http://www.cruiserperformance.com/)
I don't think there's much of a drawback on either method. Except the bars are more money.
Lowering, the front is simple. Take the weight off the front end. Pull the bolts on the top of the triple trees and then get yourself some PVC pipe in the same dimension. Cut it shorter then the metal spacer in there in the height you want to drop the front end and put it back together. Be CAREFUL not to cross thread the cap reinstalling. It's under pressure with the spring........which would also mean careful removing as well. Changing the geometry can effect the way the bike handles, but you'll get used to it.
Back end, you can go with struts at whatever length you want. A little stiffer ride but no worries about bottoming out.Or you can go with shocks in a shorter length then stock. Or if you want to save money, do a search on here for cutting your stock shocks. It's a cheap way to lower the bike. Either one of these and you'll have to set your preload higher and then you may have problems bottoming out.
Now for forward controls, I wouldn't be without them. I'm 6' and with the Mapam forwards it makes a world of difference. Check out Billski's site (http://www.billski182.com/), he's selling Mapams now and he's great to deal with. If you are short, extensions may not be for you.
I'm sure you'll have some other's chiming in with some more ideas as well.
