Finally just got my bike titled and registered yesterday. It's been quite an ordeal getting the title from the guy I bought it from (took 4 months).
well, I go to get plates and and all that........$350!!! and I couldn't get plates yet, until I get insurance.
Let's see, title fee was $9, RTD tax was $54, city tax was $157.50 and state tax was $130.50.
I insured the bike when I 1st took possesion of it, but since it took so long to get it registered, the insurance company dropped the bike.
So, I have to pay for 45 days plus the 1st month of insurance, which isn't too much, but it's all adding up quick.

Oh well, the bike is mine now, runs fine and really looks pretty nice stock. Maybe I can get some $30 mirrors off ebay or something.

See you're from Denver.... sounds like some politicians need to loose their rides!! My first year insurnace, plate and tile transfer cost me a whopping $143! Move to Alabama where we can (if you don't mind a little chill) ride all year and it doesn't cost a bundle!

I'm not very good at saying "y'all", not sure if I would fit in in Alabama.

Not too much different here. You can just about ride year round, we get something like 360 days of sunshine and most winter days are in the 40's-50's. Supposed to be pushing 60 today, even though I don't have 'legal' plates, I may go out for a ride.

And yes, that just kills me, $9 for the actual title and $340 some for taxes. I hope they're at least taking some of that money and filling some potholes around town.

Well we are transplants from Michigan... learned that ya'll isn't ya'll... its more like yawl. Wouldn't move back there under my own free will.

When we first moved here had people say "yawl ante from around here are ya?". I quickly learned that this could be countered effectively by a comment like "Sure are! Alabaster! Ya never heard of Alabaster? You must not be from around here!"

Shutem up every time.

You don't have to say Ya'll. Maybe you could just get away with dating a relative and they can give you a "Ya'll Waiver":laugh4:
