Never ridden a hardtail. just how bad is the ride? love the look, but wondering if i do it will i regret it? To those guys out there who have gone the hardtail route on the spirits, how many miles do you ride a year? do you still crank a lot of miles out on those bikes or do you find the ride too rough. i have no idea, thanks guys~Smitty:biker:

IF the roads are decent the ride is decent, if the roads suck, the ride sucks:) The roads I ride are decent and I ride it like i rode it when I had the shocks on. Try it out with some cheap struts and see what you think. I love the low look and feel of the struts! Had my bike for about a year and a half and just turned 4500 miles. I'd say 3000 of those are with struts.

Hey brotha.. the rigid struts are cool. No worries... Just try to avoid potholes and fu#@d up roads like Cali said. I have ridden to Vegas, Monterey, Santa Cruz a couple times from Socal with torch's struts, no problems to complain about. I would have to say those were some of my best rides yet. Also, try to get a good kidney belt, back support belt, that helps some.

I have ridden over 300 miles in a day with struts on.You just have to watch the road alot more for pot holes. When my wife rides with me I put shocks back on.It only takes 5 min.to switch so if you are going on a long ride you can switch.
Cali has the hard krome pipes same as mine but mine are the stagered straights.

I'll agree with the other's here and suggest you try fitting it with struts,,,,but if you prefer the struts I'd suggest you cut and re-weld the upper frame (where the rear of the saddle mounts) to lower it permanently without distorting the center of axis. In other words....by reducing the length between the swingarm and frame by using a strut of shorter length....you will actually be moving the swingarm above the parallel road beneath your ass. You've prolly seen it many times...'specially on machines fitted with a chain drive. You'll most likely have to fit a custom fender or fab the OEM....but hey, that's the price we pay to customize, hey?
Once again....post pics fore and aft.

The struts are awsome i have had mine on for about a year. No complaints. It is a little rougher than the shocks just let a little air pressure out of the back tire and your good to go.
