i know there are several of us out there that have been considering doing the HD swap but are afraid to lose out speedo's when we do it. exspecially if you use a wide glide rim. well after much debate & searching i found a speedo kit made by Trail Tech. so i decided to take the chance and purchased the Vapor kit. it comes with the speed sensor that can be set up on the front wheel along with the magnet kit, and a tempature kits. i figured what the hell its worth a try. i'll let you all know how it works out once i get it installed. i hoping that it's all good because i need one for my CBR as well since i broke it. :jamming: here is a link to it if you wanna check it out.

If your thinking about the wheel swap and you are doing the rear 18" swap, don't be afraid of moving the stock speedo to the rear wheel. I was nervious about it but after getting thing apart, it was not the hard to figure out how to get it to work.

Is there a list that details what other models rims will be a direct bolt on replacement with our shadows man? That would be the virgins orgasm if there was...there is a motorcycle bone yard around here where I can get matched wheels for 2 bills...when he has them...

you know i think all the 90 model CBR wheels will work, and if not you can always change the bearings out and make it work. that what vegas did last year when he put the CBR wheel on his VLX. the new model ones have large axles on them.
voodoo where the hell you at in texas cause you i'm in killeen when i am home.

Is there something different about the CBR rear that prevents you from moving the speedo to the rear just like a HD mod then? SInce it's off anyway on the front, you'd adjust to it being off by x amount.

yea the way the cush drive is made on the CBR wheel, you can't mod it to put the speed sensor in it. doesn't matter, the new speedo is already on the way. they should run the damn thing off of the engine like my CBR is.

Well if you go NG on the front, other than spacing out the brake rotor, you should be able to keep the speedo on the front. Others have made it work. Good luck either way.

Let us know what you think of it when you get it.I never put my speedo drive back on even though I have the NG wheel, just looks cleaner and wanted a different speedo anyway when the stretch comes around.

yea i'll let you know how it works. i hope its good cause like i said, i gotta replace the one on my race bike as well. i'll devising a plan in my head now on how i can intagrate it into my tank. i know several car builders back home that can probably hook me up with something cool on the tank for a clean look.
