I have recently purchased an 85 vt1100 and am busily modifying her. I have swapped the bars and controls out to 1" off a fat boy and it has totally changed the look and feel of the bike. I want to widen the rear end and wondered if anyone has tried to swap the 140/90/15 for the 170/80/15 found on most new shadows?
I know its tight and I will channel out the swingarm if I have to but I'd rather not.
Is the rear wheel 3.5" or 4" is my second queston.
Any help I'd appreciate. I'll post some photos as I go. My long term plan is to strip it right down to the frame, powdercoat and then polish anything that can be shined.
