Hey Freaks,...
Yellowman here,...
Went out to start my bike,... Haven't ridden her in about a week and a half and I thought I'd turn her over for her healths sake and to hear my lovely Vance and Hines growl a little bit,... But she just started clickin' away,...

So I know the battery is not dead, Just depleted,...

I've got it here on my desk,... Let me describe it for you,...

Yuasa YTZ14S
MF

It says it's acid/electrolite filled so I can assume that I won't be adding any water to this thing,...

And I've got an

Everstart Fully Automatic Battery Tender
1 1/2 AMP For 12 Volt Batteries,...

Am I all set? I'm going to wait to hear from a few of you before I proceed,...

I'm a little pissed,... This battery is less than a year old,... And it's my second battery,... I hope this doesn't lead to other grief down the road,... It's getting pretty cold here in Las Vegas (I know east coasters think I'm a puss) and we just finished an extremely HOT summer so maybe the battery just needs a little charging,... Let me know gang,.... Be safe, Be well,... Hey!,... If they don't charge too much I'd let the Stealer/Dealer charge it,.... What Y'all think? Happy Holidays,...
Yellowman,... :hat:

You've got a charger there that sounds like it'll do the job to get a charge back into it. I had to use the 'jump start' mode on one of my chargers one spring. Before I got a good battery tender for the bike. The cables stay connected to the battery and when I put the bike away, just pull the cables out, and plug it in. No need to take the seat off.
With you riding most of the year, this shouldn't be an ongoing issue. I'm not sure how the charging system works on the bike, but if it's anything like a boat motor, at low speeds you aren't doing a lot of charging. So if you do lots of stops and starts in a night with very little driving that may have caused the drain.
Charge it up, then take it out on the highway for a good long ride.

BTW, I might be in your town in February, around the 16th-19th possibly. Details aren't worked out as of yet.

Thanks RJ,...

I'll hook her up and see what happens,... I've got the type of tender with the connector that I can leave connected tothe battery,... I'll do that for sure,...

I think you nailed it on the head,... I was gigging at the Orleans Hotel with the band and it's only a 2 1/2 mile ride,... I rode every night, (Except to tear down my rig) and the bike barely had time to even warm up,...

Again I know the east coasters think I'm a wimp, But it's getting down to the mid 30's at night here in Vegas,... Even with my Frank Thomas Outerwear (which is such a hassle to put on) long rides aren't very comfortable,... But I'll try to maybe take her out on a long afternoon ride,...

Thanks for your reply RJ,... I'll let you know how it goes,... Peace, Love and V-Twins,... ~Yellowman

Just keep your battery tender pluged in as much as you can and it will save you this grief down the road. sounds like your going in the right direction. I use battery tenders on all my stuff and I have not bought a new battery in over 3+ years. But from what it sounds like you dont get it out on the freeway much. I can pretty much assure you that if you are driving only around town and not exceeding 50MPH you are not charging your battery. hope this helps

Hey Shadow Guy,...
I think you're right,... I'm not doing a lot of freeway cruising,... I've hooked up the connector to the battery and stashed it behind the side cover,... So it's ready to hook up anytime to the battery tender,... I hope this works,... I really can't afford a new battery right now,... Money is tight and Christmas is right around the corner,... So keep your fingers crosssed for me,....
Thanks for your reply brutha,... Peace,... Matt (Yellowman)
