Well gang! It's official... the Shadow is sitting in my driveway. The ride home was wonderful though the temp here is hovering around 40 degrees. I will be breaking me in more than the bike now. Very rusty after so many years out of the saddle. However, I could feel it coming back almost instantly.
Happy, excited, and a bit nervious... but she's mine!

Smoke it just ante fair...move all the way from Michigan to Alabama to escape the cold... but there is only 4 degrees of difference from you folks in MA and here? Dang!
Just found out that the bike is a bit too wide to get though the door to the basement... grrrrr thought I had 3" of clearance to play with but the mirrors stick out beyond the handle bars. I managed to get it in the basement by turning and leaning. Think I smell a reworking of that door downstairs or I'm going to have to build a shed for the bike.

Congrats on the new ride. If the mirrors are an issue for getting it in. Loosen them up so you can swing them out of the way.

Not a bad Idea... need to adjust mirrors prior to heading out anyhow, so a small wrench on the key chain and I'm there!

That thing is over a hundred bucks ! That is beer/mod money . I have had a bike since I was a little kid [dirtbike] and a couple dirtbikes and a CBR as a teen . I have owned dirtbikes and cruizers thru out my twentys . I am now creeping up on my 32nd birthday . $110 seems like alot of money to pay when you have been riding for over 20 years with out one .

IT's been a lot of years since I've been on the Saddle, but that is the way my wife prefers it.

Just reminds me what a great state I live in.... (cost of compliance for bikes)
- Motorcycle endorcement 1 written test and $6 to take it.
- Plate for the bike $35 out the door
- Insurance (Full coverage) $134 (GEICO).
Makes for a broader smile going down the road.

Most insurance company's won't cover you if you have an accident and don't have a license. Test isn't too hard...... OK, maybe it is in Nebraska. I stop down there every once in a while and ride the course to make sure I can do it. I'm just learning you know...... Well, when I was 8, I started learning and I still am. You can always get better.
Ride safe!

Here in California, the written test was easy. I was concerned with the riding portion, but took the MSF course. Passing that means I got to skip the riding portion of the test. I scored best on the riding test in the class though, so I probably woulda done okay at the DMV. My license cost around $25 I think...

Okay Sin so it's a little costly but it's worth it in the Long Run, for when you get clipped by that Cager and there Insurance company say's there not Paying cause you weren't supposed to be there in the first place ie: No License But I also have to do it again to get a Base Sticker so I can Ride to work even though I've got years of experience No Classs No Sticker Navy Regs.

Bama, congrats on the new ride. Now get it up on a lift and take all the stock parts off, chop things off, fabricate some new shit, get some pipes, chrome some shit, polish some shit, buy some more stuff, empty your bank account completely, and then put her back together and post some pictures!
