Is it OK to leave a trickle charger attached and plugged in during the winter months? Or, do I need to pick up a battery "tender"? If so, what size is appropriate for my SS750, the .75 amp or 1.25 amp? Any help is appreciated, I wasnt going to winterize my wheels but after hearing of a few mishaps with "black ice" I dont want to take a chance.

Trickle chargers don't normally have a load sensor, so they will continually charge even when the battery has reached it's capacity. Which isn't the best for winter storage. Most tenders have the ability to sense when a battery has reached it's charge (float mode monitors) and stop charging, and only recharging as necessary. Just make sure the one you select has the feature to monitor the charge and shut itself off as necessary.

You could possibly use the trickle charger for your off-season if you plug it into a timer and set the timer for a 72 hr cycle. Monitor it for a few weeks (with a meter or such) to verify the proper charge. Also (once a month) check water level.
PS...Batteries prefer warmer climates, but be aware of your surroundings when you're selecting a place to store and charge it.
