Just got an '03 Shadow Spirit, replacing an '02 SS. I'm excited to start doing some mods, but am trying to decide where to start.

I'd like to:
Change out the brake light
get new turn signals
lower it
paint it (already have the paint)
new mirrors
odds and ends chrome pieces
forward controls

Where did most of you start? Money is somewhat of an issue, can't afford to run out and get everything at once, it'll probably be a work in progress for a while.

I did the holesaw mod and then swapped out my mirrors (want to change them again). Planning on doing the taillight and turn signals.

Oh one more thing:

FUCK OFF NOOB!!! :rifle:

Welcome to the nuthouse! :biggrinje

Good luck with the mods.

Thanks for the welcome!

I forgot to mention, the guy I bought the bike from put on some Vance and Hines pipes, that's about the only thing I don't need to worry about at this time.

What's a good place to look at turn signals?

Welcome to the site!

For bang for you buck, for being the most notable changes....I'd start with the tail light, and then the mirrors. Won't cost you a lot, but will change the way the bike looks. The brick on the back sucks, as does the mickey mouse ears Honda calls mirrors.

I need to find some better mirrors. The firefighters maltese cross ones I put on earlier this year look great, but you can't see squat out of them. Looks like you're looking into a circus mirror.

Either check the "motorcycle links" link at the top of the page or do a search for turn signals at the top right of the page to see what people have said about different signals they have gotten.

Hi, I just got an '05 Shadow Sprirt 750 on Saturday. It's my first real bike!!! Anyway, do you think that tail light mod makes that big of a difference? It sounds like a good mod for me to start with 'cause it's easy and cheap, but "the brick" doesn't look so bad to me...

I wanna do something. My bike's completely stock right now. I did get the flame paint though, so it's still pretty. :)

change the taillight. that brick is ugly as hell! You will be surprised how much better a new taillight will look!

I sent my boyfriend the Billski link to show him that mod and he ordered it for me! He's crazy, and sweet. Anyway, looks like I'm gettin' it. Hope he lets me install it myself. I like doing that kind of thing.

Thanks!

I bought a bunch of my stuff from Crusiercustomizing.com,... One of my favorite mods is my chrome radiator cover,... Not too expensive and looks bitchin',... They also have a bunch of little chrome pieces that will make your bike shine, shine, shine,... Happy Hunting,.... Yellowman

My friend yellow can't even jet a carb .:laugh4: I would say a lowering kit .
