I am looking to get some black pipes on my Spirit. There are plenty out there for the 750, I am having a problem finding them for the 1100. I have a 2001 year model. I know I can have the ceramic coated, but was wondering if anyone knew of any that came black. I LOVE the Hard Krome Strippers, especially for the 750, but not sure if they are blacked for the 1100. I like them straight, not funneled at the ends, like stock. I also like the looks of the shorter pipes, like the HK strippers for the 750, but can deal with the "a little" longer 1100 if the came black. I am calling HK this weekend, but expect that they do not come black for mine. Any help here?

Yea, i been searching cl and ebay for some theat I like, but havent been lucky yet. The guy that does the ceramic coat is only $80 so not that bad I guess. Just feel like I would get more life out of them if they were factory.

There are very few options for the 1100 without them haveing that funnel style on the ends of the pipe anyway.

Also, do any other pipes bolt right up, or just the ones specifically made for the 1100 Spirit?

The 1100 is the red headed step child of the Shadow family.
Not much out there in the aftermarket that's ready to go as is. We are forced to invent shit and modify what we can get our hands on.
A friend of mine has a set of HK's on his Sabre and they sound like crap. My stockers with the hole saw mod sound much deeper and less tinny. I was thinking of just painting the stockes instead.

when i got my bike my pipes were chrome, not as long as yours, but they looked like shit and i hated them. i bought some high temp black grabbed a sawzall cut them to the length i wanted and painted them black. i think they look good. just throwing that out there as an option

I agree with the fellas.... I just painted my stock "bazooka tube" black and in a round about way did the holesaw mod and probably saved $300+. It's too hard to find pipes for HONDAs period that come in black. And when you pay for new pipes... you pay for the chome.... I would hate to see you sand off newly spent $$. I had this idea of going to the muffler shop and having them bend and make a set of pipes for me out of what they had... Nothing fancy, just a "Shotgun" style, then painting them black. I'm sure it would have sounded great... and the best part is that they were only gonna charge $75. There... my .02

i have a 750DC and added some V&H short shots, I had the HEAT SHIELDS powder coated black. Cost $90 for both shields and chain guard. Probably not what you want to hear since I have a 750. My buddy has an 1100 and he wanted to do the same bit, he went with the short shots as well and powder coated the shields as well. There are pics in my Gallery, if you would like closer pics let me know.

Bro, IMO (if it matters) the look of that bike would lend well to black wrap. Maybe give it a bandaged warrior feel. I do like the military look.
