and a happy Yule! What gets me is that its NOT JUST CHRISTMAS. Yes I've celebrated Christmas my whole life but why CANT you send a holiday card or seasons greetings card out? There is Hannukah, kwanza, Rahmadan, Yule, and I'm sure there are a few more holidays which have similar meanings in December. So they sent out "holiday cards" BIG DEAL! Do the Catholics/Christians think that they are more deserving than everyone else? But regarding the news article, I guess that those groups are doing what they do best...............Bitch and moan.

I think the real problem is these fuck holes believe that GW sent that card himself. The White house is not going to send a Xmas card to a Jew or Muslim by mistake this way . 1.4 million would be alot of people to do a background check on just to send a fucking card to . The feasting and having company over , Yule holdover . The giving of gifts predates Christs birth by over a thousand years . Christmas is Yule . Early Christians just tacked on Christ's birthday to an already established pagan holiday. I sugest that Evanjackels celabrate Christs birth on the real day in Febuary and leave Yule alone . Sinister, you say in your post that jesus was born in Feburary, well being Jewish, and having been to Isreal and having family there, I gotta tell ya it was later in the spring than that, I have been to Bethlehem..sp..and I gotta say...its damm cold there in december and even feburary and there was no frikin way no damm sheperds were watching any flock f sheep around that time.

I could not remember if it was April or Febuary .Too many kicks to my head . The point is, that it is months away from Yule and everything [almost] that was done for that holiday is still done and claimed by Christians as their own. Don't get me started on Eastera and bunnys and eggs being a pagan hold over in the spring about fertility . Things like a May pole and the ribbons being sybolic of a vagina and the pole being a penis . Early pagans celibrated the four solstices and the es sabbats in between. 8 holidays a year mostly regarding harvests and fertility . The converting of Europe took almost a 1000 years . Sinister, I totally agree, they have taken other's traditions and called them there own. I can't count how many times some one has come up to me and said "we went to a passover seder at our church" my reply is usually Oh really, they think that if they eat unlevend bread it makes it passover and because Christ was a jew that they are intitled to celabrate it, I wish they would just celabrate there traditions and leave others alone. As to the religous right and the Christmas problem vs. holidays, get a grip, our founding fathers separated church and state for a reason, this country was started on religous tolerance, it is not a Christian nation, but you couldnt tell them that. In the early formation of the church they stole everything to get those nations they were oppressing to conform to there belief system, just like the right wants to do now to this country.
