Brother,I dont think you or I would want my wife riding a bike.LOL. I personally think it`s cool to see a chick ride and would want my wife beside me instead behind me.I think her way of thinking is she has no need to ride when she has me driving and scared to do it doesn`t help much.I need to find a rebel or something small and let her try it out.Never know, she may love it as much as i do.

She just got it yesterday and she is getting used to it but she loves it. We went for a short ride yesterday. I let her ride in front.... better view for me :)

Mine rides and just loves it. We got her an '85 VT700 a few years ago after she took the MC course. Any time we go out she's got an ear to ear grin the entire time.
Here she is soon after we got it home:

Here she's heading home from work:

This one is from a while back ('94 I believe) when I had my old '84 VT700 and borrowed my uncles '82 Honda CM400:

Haha, nice one.
I would like to teach my wife how to ride, but definitely not down here in Virginia Beach. These driver's down here can't even see big SUV's coming down the road before they turn out in front of them.

The wife had several bikes over the years, naturally all before we got together. Now she doesn't want to do anything sit on the back and relax on the trips. That's why i'm trying to add a bigger scoot to the inventory...lol

No she doesn't. Not quite sure how I feel about it. Sometimes it seems like a great idea. Other times, not so much. On the one hand, every nice day she wants to ride with me. And even though she only weights 115 lbs, I don't always want the extra weight, and responsibility of having someone else with me.
On the other hand, she does express interest in it. I'm just not quite sure if I want to give up my only hobby that is just me, or just me and my buddies- no wives/ girlfriends.

Congrats on getting her the bike.
I would like my wife to get one. She still wont go on the back of mine, she acts like she doesn't want to but I know she does. I think in about a year I will get her a Rebel so she can learn, take a course, and ride with me. A few of my other buddies who have Shadow's want to do the same with their wifes.

I know what you are saying about the hobby thing. I felt the same way until I saw her in front of me on the bike. WOW!!! We took the DOT class together (her idea) and I went along with it. She likes riding on the back of mine but she also was wanting her own soooooo .... I got her one (again, not sure about the idea). After riding around the hood behind her, I was sold. She looks great on it, she rides great, and it will be fun to have a riding partner outside of the bedroom hahaha.
I do worry though, dont get me wrong. Thats my only issue now.

Mine does. She rides a little Rebel that I bobbed for her. She loves it. Makes me nervous as hell though. I can't seem to enjoy riding if she is with me. I worry too much about her.

Mine wants to start riding. Since I soloed out the Spirit she's S.O.L. for riding on the back. I've been keeping an eye out for a good used ride for her. Gotta think cheap because I'm just getting back to work after losing my job a year ago and the wage isn't near what I was making before.

I got it from a friend for 400 bucks and decided to tinker around with it. It's a fun little bike.

My wife started riding about three years ago, she started on a Suzuki Savage 650 single cyl. good beginners bike, sits low, light weight. She bought a '98 Honda Shadow 750 ACE a couple weeks ago and loves it. She has started riding by herself to work and back a little bit. I do worry about her a little, but she's really a good rider.
P.S. her savage is for sale if anybody is looking for a good beginner bike for the wife or g/f hint hint. Its a 2000, low miles, can't remember off the top of my head, has a custom paint job, sportster seat, harley muffler (sounds real good)

after my wife got laid off last year, I got her into a MC course at the local college, and she had a shit eatin grin the first day home. We went shoppin around for a good used bike for her, and I kept pointin her to cruisers and she kept goin back to crotchrockets... Soooooo she got herself a ninja 500 that I told her she'd outgrow in a year (which she has) but she wants to go to a VFR 750/800 somewhere in there. Sometimes we get weird looks pullin up side by side at a stop light or whatever, but hey, she's riding, and she's not nagging my ass from behind me. :)

Wish my wife would, but no chance in hell. However I did get her to actually drive one of those 3 wheel BRP Spyders. She said it was ok, but I think she dug it more than she wants me to think. I may get her to ride but it'll prob be 3 wheels. Won't bother me though. Those things are wicked fast!! Rode one myself as well.

My wife says she would like to, but has no clue how to drive a manual trans. She says she wants a scooter, since they're auto. But I just can't see myself riding with her on a scooter. Maybe she'll learn one day.
Tell your wife to head over to my GZ250 forum ... we cover just about everything on that bike from mods to maintenance to troubleshooting. Lots of good info over there. We just hit our 1000th member.

My wife isn't coordinated enough to ride .... she'd kill herself heh.
