sorry to hear about the bike and glad you're alright. Your wife musta had a fit, didn't the two of you just have a baby??

Anyway, about the aftermarket parts. That's between you and them. Usually they issue the check to you. And you pay for the repairs.

Sorry to hear about your bike, but glad you didn't get hurt. My wife's bike was hit in a hit and run. When the estimate was done, it was done on 'replacement' cost of the parts. Most of the stock parts on a bike are far more expensive then aftermarket. I know the insurance that we were dealing with had no problems if we were to get an item under the quoted cost. But you don't get to pocket the difference or keep your old parts

First thing, Scott. Glad you're all right! That's the most important thing. Bikes can be fixed but Dad's can't be replaced! As for the bike, it depends on your insurance company. If the bike is paid for, they might give you the check for the repairs. I bet each state is different tho. Good luck!

Glad to hear you are OK. A similar situation happened to a friend and all he received was stock replacement parts. Each company and state may be different. I know I receive a letter every few months from my insurance company asking if I have made any modifications to the bike. Good luck on the repairs.
