Ok..
Still a noob, but I have seen the question asked, Is it possible to make a stock front fender into a rear fender, so I decided to try it for my bobber..
Took the stock front, and cut it

Marked the center line of the fender

Then i cut it on this line, I cut a strip of metal 2" wide and folded one end to
match the stock fender lip, then put a slight roll, again to match the stock fender
then tacked it in place...
How just have to finish welding, grind it down, and stick it on the bike,
More pics to follow..

Thats a pretty awesome idea. I may have to try this if I go the bobber way.

Done the same to my bike, but since my old steed comes with a 140 rear tyre, I didn't even have to widen the fender to make it fit

I almost did the same thing...cept I took my front fender coated it with plastic and fiberglasses over it. The front fender is actually a good model to make the rear out of. Good work. Wish my boot ass knew how to weld

Thanks guys
Lol, no..
I cut the fender in half b4 work, took about 5 min.
then at break I split the fender and tacked in the strip in the center 15 min.
At lunch I had to bring my truck home (had both bike and truck here) so
when I got back I had 10 min to fully weld it..
Then at my last break I ground it down and painted it 15 min.
So in all I only had about 45 min into making it.
I actually broke down and ordered a new seat and springs..
That will be next (Well, actually I will probably go cut off the rear peg brackets today at lunch)

AH HA! I knew it could be done. I tried this application last summer with no success (see picture right). You have a nice set of specialized skills there to do this in 30 minutes. Nice work.

Well the welder I chose to widden mine was a mistake... jacked my fender up bad. I am going to go with a fender that a buddy gave me and will spend the rest of the summer with a few sandbags and hammers trying to fix the one the welder fukeded up... figure to get it right will take about a month of beating, bending, some acuglass and sanding before I have something I like.
Note to readers: Not every car body shop has a good welder on duty.
