What is the world coming too? I just got yelled at by a bunch of middle-aged pool maintenece men at 6pm in the evening in a public parking lot. This was outside where bikes and animals can roam free. Haha What the hell? Dudes need to get a life and grow up. OK ok, maybe my bike pipes were revved in their direction but I dont think it's that loud to be a pussy about it and get bent out of shape. I can see old people sleeping at night yelling at my bike, but regular dudes getting pissed? C'mon.
Sorry just rambling and sharing, never heard of dudes hating on motorcycles before and it pissed me off and I wanted to go back, but I would of got my ass beat by 4 dudes. When it comes down to it, im probably an asshole with a semi loud bike, and they are assholes because they hate their lives, I respect that.

I've been wishing my pipes were even louder since my accident. They are literally what saved me. Loud pipes most definitely save lives. I'm thinking that even louder pipes might save fenders and mirrors, too! :pissed:

Damn, accident?! Are you OK?!
Yeah, I believe in the whole loud pipes saves lives thing, but I dont think my bike is obnoxious unless I would sit and rev it like an obnoxious asshole. It's def loud enough to be heard though, but I have heard bikes 10x louder that almost hurt my ears.

it was just a flesh wound (and a broken rib...) as well as some minor damage to my bike, mostly fixed now. Low speed accident, driver not even looking where she was going. GRRR! This happened in the Fall.
My pipes are only loud when I rev them, which I do more of now if someone isn't looking in my direction. I may put a super loud horn on it, but I couldn't even tell you where my horn button is if you put a gun to my head now that I think about it

Wow, you are tough, at least your okay and props for getting back on the bike and riding again. I swear those god damn drivers out there are crazy. I have people pull out infront of me all the time, i'm so paranoid being a defensive rider in town that its not even pleasurable unless I get out in the back roads. Oh, and the horn button should be right under your blinker switch on the left hand grip, at least that's where mine is on my bike haha.

well I had to get right back on it to ride it home. The driver fled the scene after saying it wasn't her fault (she ran a stop sign, wasn't even looking). Boy was my adrenaline pumping. I made a point of getting out again really soon after, and often. I never told my family about it...
I hear you about riding not being pleasurable sometimes. When I get in traffic I am perpetually pissed off and ready to do something quick when the next idiot tries to run me over. I'm re-taking the MSF class in April or May.
I was driving in my (new!) car earlier today and a car next to me almost side swiped me. The guy was texting. Mother fucker! I hate stupid people. I couldn't help but think how he wouldn't have noticed a bike at all. I see stuff like that all the time. I'm sure we all do.
That Arizona accident still has me shook up. To think of all the suffering...
Stay alert out there, folks. They really are all out to kill us.

I hate texters. My ex-GF texted all the time and I use to bitch her out for it. It is worse than drinking and driving I say. I drive almost 100 miles a day to and from work(in a car) and I always see something crazy everyday that some asshole is trying to pull. I stay relaxed and try to laugh it off, I use to have road rage, now I just think "what a fucking retard".

Yeah dude, I wanted to turn around and throw my helmet at them. I didnt see the yelling at me necessary. I understand it is twice as loud back behind my bike probably though.
The thing is, they will probably be outside working at that pool everyday this week when I go back to the gym. I'm thinking of being an asshole if I ride my bike there or actually going up and saying something smart ass to them.

you should pull your mufflers out one day* and then point out to them that THAT is loud.
*I know, probably much easier said than done

Funny thing is I was running straight pipes up to the last week so my bike was about as loud as it would get with that set up. I installed the BCT Monster baffles last week and I really didnt think it made it louder, if anything I thought it was more mellow but more throaty. But, just today ive had someone tell me it sounds a lot louder and I got yelled at by shit heads so I dont know.

Whatever you do, don't let someone influence you away from what you want, if you have baffles in your pipes, they're NOT that loud .... and if you like the sound and you know they're not going to get ya busted(most important part) .... FOCK THE WHINERS!

Oh hell yea! I would never let someones opinion change my set up. The Monster baffles are not like the stock cobra baffles, these things are just as loud as no baffles, I thought it made it a tad quieter, but technically they are suppose to make your pipes roar/more HP gains(supposedly). Point being, they are still pipes on a 750, its not THAT loud to the point of getting upset. :jamming: I guess some guys just hate their lives and need to bitch at motorcyclists. Me being a guy(girls included) always thought motorcycles are suppose to be noisy, they're motorcycles. Whenever I heard one even before I use to ride, I never thought anything about it. That why these pool guys pissed me off, no point in getting upset.

I've got some loud pipes on my bike, not to rain on anyones parade, but any harley is louder than mine. I know they're bigger bikes than my 750, but how do they get that noise out of those pipes? I would love to be able to turn heads like that from pipes alone.

Gotta ace 1100, jetted and stroked, K&N, with V&H straight shots no baffles.
I have seen a few people yell at me! I
I have no idea what they said though.... I couldnt hear them, my bike is too loud LOL!!
Yup!! Thats how these guys were yesterday, I could hear them totally screaming bitching at me as I drove off.

My bike can definetly scream if I want it too, but yeah, like you guys say, its a 750, not the loudess bike on the street, but definetly a badass sounding bike. But, for a little throttle into 1st gear at 3MPH, these dudes that yelled at me have no lives. I was just mad that they got mad for no good reason, I shouldnt have even gotten mad over it.
Keep the pissed off people at our bikes stories coming if you got'em!

I went down to St. Mary, GA yesterday and picked up a 94 VLX I won on bid from a REPO. When I fired it at Kingsbay Honda to put it on the trailer, I was shocked and commited at how quite it was. "O you are one of those guys" is what the guy at the shop said in a mocking tone..... I just said "Sure are.. JHAP" and smiled. -(JHAP-Jesus Hates A Pussy)- Not another word was said until "bye" when I left for the 5 hour drive back home.
I like loud bikes, hot nude chicks, and burbon.... I am not hiding it or going to be ashamed of it. Fuck those Metro-Males.

In albuquerque there were some complaints about loud pipe by a couple of libtards in Nob Hill. The city commisioners then passed a law against reving your engine. Now I will admit there are riders who go to far, but go after those people. I always make sure I goose the throttle when I go by the one guy who got on TV and trashed bikers though.

I'm happy to see there are alot more bikes on the road, but I agree there are a whole lot of pussy riders out there now. There in it for the statement, no heart.

Come to Utah. I dont know how it is where you live but its now illegal to text while driving here. I mean I know it doesnt stop some people, but you feel a little safer knowing i guess.

I try to be somewhat polite, but when somebody cuts off me or someone I'm riding with I like to think of my home brew pipes as punishment. My favorite is to see somebody on a cell phone with their windows down. Hey, you gotta admit, that's good shit when somebody almost jumps over into the passenger seat!

I set a guys car alarm off when I started my scooter at Home Depot about 3 weeks ago. He was on his way into the store and had to come back out top turn it off. He shot me a look and said "little bit on the loud side there". I replied, "little light on the sensitivity for that alarm". He did not say anything else.
I have loud ass pipes, but they can always be louder. I am looking at the BTC Monster Baffles. Reading through the ton of threads here.
Loud pipes wake up dosing assholes on their cell phones. I live to give them a headache.

@fishman I set my neighboors alarm off everytime I take it out. Good thing is that she rides too so she never complains.
About two weeks ago I went out to hang w/ some friends for some wings and beer. I parked on the portch/sidewalk. Later when it was time to leave I started my bike I set off a car alarm and this little nerdy guy comes out mad as hell to turn it off. I laugh wait for him to walk back in then rev it up set off his alarm again and leave.

I am fortunate that a lot of folks in our neighborhood ride or used to ride so i get no complaints about the pipes, just compliments. I try to be considerate as well, i'll idle down the block if it's before 8am or after midnight.
Bewtween 8am and midnight though i can roll the guy out of bed a couple of houses down if i want ot roll on the throttle....lol
I have two guys who have trying for a couple of weeks to get thier ikes to sound like my 750 so i take that as one of the best compliments, that other bikers like it enough to emulate it.
I do feel that rolling on the throttle has averted several accidents for me especially in the downtown area here because people will be talking on the cell or just plain not looking as they get ready to roll off from the intersection getting ready to make a right turn and they never look to see me coming until they hear the thunder....lol

Yeah, in hindsight of this thread I made, I actually receive way more compliments about my pipes than complains as well. I actually just had a neighbor yesterday I never talk to, come out of his house, walk down the road, to tell me how much he liked the sound of my pipes. Then he went on to ask me a bunch of questions about my bike and pipes. So....
He mentioned how much he loved the bass hollow sucking sound on decel the cobras make.
