Anybody on here much of a guitar player? I started when I was 17 and have been addicted to collecting them ever since. Who are your favorites? I'm a big stevie ray fan along with jimmy page, clapton, and buddy guy. I think hendrix was good but died to early in his career to really show his full talent. For those of you from Texas there is a guy named Monty Montgomery who can really shred too. Just wanted to start a new thread to see what people thought.

My first was a Les Paul copy made by Austin...pretty nice for a cheap copy (cherry red).
My second was a sunburst Fender Strat (MIM-1986).
Then came the Lawsuit copy of a Fender Strat (also sunburst) made by Memphis (1970).
Next came a lawsuit copy of a Fender P bass made by memphis also (1972).
After that came a Univox copy of a Gibson ES 335. When I bought this one believe it or not the owner had spray painted it Camoflauge! I bought it as an art project for my son who was doing airbrush work in high school. I stripped it down to tha bare wood it was a beautiful bookmatched maple top! He painted a flame design from the neck down to the bridge area! It turned out way cool!
Other than those I have a Honer Dreadnought acoustic and a Fernandez classical.
And one of these days before I die I plan on learnin' myself how to play!!!
Univox as bought...

Started off playing the ol mans Gibson j-45 acoustic and Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman, metal knobs prob late 60's.
First of my own was a SG copy bought at SEARS.
Gretsch Chet Atkins Tennessean when I was 12 plastic knobs prob early 70's.
Gibson Les Paul Custom (1990) with add on midi pick-up to trigger Roland GR-50 synth.
Fender Telecaster with top sanded and back carved out like a Strat. Pick-up conf. as Strat with double humbucker in rear. A parts guitar have no fuckin' clue of years.
Fender Telecoustic, sounds great when plugged in.
Washburn acoustic and Ibanez acoustic both picked up at flea markets for campfire use.

I'm an acoustic Blues Artist....got rid of the Martin D3R when I bought a 30 year old American made Washburn (it was still brand new 10 years ago, just never had been put up for sale in a friends music store) after that the Martin sat in the closet for like 5 years from the first day that I played that Washburn, so one day about 5 years ago I up and sold it (the Martin)so it wouldn't go to waste, also have a National Resonator Dobro., Forgot, have a Kona Acoustic sitting in the living room (no case just leans against the love seat) that I found at a flea market ...looked like 20 years of mud and bird shit were on it, they guy asked 35 bucks...fucking things worth 300 if it's worth a dollar anyway beautiful binding excellent neck and action, just something that sounds good that I can leave out and grab whenever the mood hits., keep that one tuned to an open C with a dropped down D

I've played bass for a while... I've only got 2 six-strings: a Squire strat and an ancient steel-string acoustic I play whenever I need to punish myself.
I have lots of basses though: my main axe is a 1974 P Bass I got from Ebay maybe 10 years ago. I have a fretless Warwick Corvette 4-string, a Spector semi-hollowbody fretless 5-string, a Mexican Jazz bass, an Ibanez Destroyer bass (lol, it was the 80's) and a 3/4 size upright bass. Sadly, the upright bass is basically furniture now -- it never leaves the living room. All of the band stuff I do is all-electric.
If you'd asked this question maybe 2 years ago I had about double that number of basses, but the wife has kindly provided some suggestions as to how many basses I need...

Got my first guitar when i was 12 and learned to play a little, but found out my 6 year old brother (lefty) was a natural. My cousin is a music freak and is the Editor at Alternative Rock magazine out of Cleveland, and he says my brother is one of the best guitar players he's ever heard. I just know he's good. By the way, there is no guitar as beautiful as a Les Paul. I can hear the music when i just hold it in my lap.

No guitar here, but I've been playing the drums for about 26 years. Haven't had as much time as I would like lately (kids, work, etc). But I play when I get a chance. Grew up listning & jaming to 80's Metal & Hard rock. Along with early 90's. Besides some of the older bands that are still around, I can't seem to get into alot of the newer music. :drummer:

Started playing classical violin when I was 7. Picked up a guitar and taught myself how to play when I was about 12. Played on and off in bands in the last few years but got tired of the band drama. I love all music but am a Metal Head at heart. Love Yngwie, Chris Caffery, Paul Gilbert, Warren DeMartini, Brad Gillis, Zakk Wylde and such. Here is part of my colletcion.

i've been play guitar on and off for about 12 years. love my guitars, i have an acoustic that nobody has ever heard of. its from a company called terrada, it plays fantastically, perfect sound and action. for my electrics i have a c.f. martin stinger and my latest one a schecter gryphon diamond series. love that guitar too. i play through a fender stage 112 SE amp, loud as hell for a 90 watt amp. i really need to get back into it like i was before, and start takin up lessons again.

80's BC Rich Warlock
92 Gibson Flying V
Jackson Dinky Reverse
ESP M-2
Ibanez RG-360
