I'm looking for some BCT monster baffles for my Cobra drags. I believe they are the ones with a 2" inner diameter. I understand these are new for $80 so not that big of deal if no one has any used ones, but I have seen some used ones on ebay a few times. Those fucks bid at the last second and I cant be on there 24/7. Thanks guys.
Also 11" progressive 412s im looking for. Just testing the forum before I buy everything brand new.

Yeah, I have seen those. I would probably get them if they had my size. I mean, they look identical to the BCTs so who is to say they dont have the exact same effects.

Cancel on the Baffles. Just threw $90 down on the Monster Baffles. The reviews are too good to pass up. I passed up some deal on ebay lately for these under $50 so I thought I would try the forum. I've waited too long so need to get'em installed!

yeah man, I have been on the fence about them for almost a year. I have been running the cobra drags without baffles. I love the sound now, power isn't too bad, but I do notice some hesitation and a lack of mid range, so I decided to get the BCTs.

I was running the cobras with the baffles in.. Just didn't sound good. The BCT's rock.. I noticed a bit of power gain and better response.

You capp you got the 2" ID and 2"1/8 OD right? We have the same pipes. You didnt put yours in the stock drilled hole did you? I have heard people putting these 4, 5, and 6 inches in so I might just choose whatever...

You got the right ones.. 2" ID and 2"1/8 OD. I did end up just using the stock holes.

Really? See, I have researched the shit out of these, and people have wrote how unimpressed with them they were until they moved them in to say 5 inches, and then they were completely blown away by the sound and performance.
I would much rather use my stock holes, but the website even says these will only make a difference if you put them in the "sweet spot".
A may put them in those stocks holes really quick to test them. I think those stock holes are 3 inches in or so...but if im not as impressed as all the reviews I have read, that means I must have to drill new holes.

I think they are 3 inches in. You will get papers in the box and I believe it said you want them at 4 inches. I didn't think an inch would make a huge difference. I thought they sounded good at the stock holes so I left them.
Let me know if you try to change yours up. Curious to see if there is much change.

Yeah, I will let you know if I drill them up more.
I have heard from Dupo on here, I think he had his at 4" and he moved it up 1" to 5" and he was completely blown away by the 1" move because it made such a huge difference.

hmmm, gots me thinking now guys...
So the closer to the header pipe the better?
Is this both for sound and performance?

Yeah guys, i'm serious. I mean, if you're impressed with them now compared to your last set up, then I wouldnt move them. But, judging by what I hear, moving them in more towards the header is better (4-5") in from back of pipe is awesome. Here is the thread I dug up talking about this:

I don't know if I should try the 4 or 5 inch mark. Probably the 5?

Haha, I dont know!!! I am wondering the same. I'm sure whatever that post said I would go with as I trust everyone on here. I'm thinking 4.5" haha.
I will try the original hole first and then if I dont think its any different(and still if it is noticable) I still will probably go with a 4.5" mark.

The 4.5" mark sounds good. I may go for 5".. lol
I will have to find a way to plug the hole so it doesn't whistle.

Well I should have my BCTs by Monday but not sure when I will get them on, depends on the weather. When you move yours get on here and let me know if you noticed anything.
And yea, I was wondering how to plug that hole as well...

If you are using the stock holes they will take you 10 minutes to get them put in. I don't know when I am going to move mine. I have a lot of new things coming for the bike this week, so I will be busy. lol

Yeah, I know it will be a quick install. Drilling shouldnt be that hard, the pipes are thin and I just need to find some needle nose plyers.
I think I may go ahead and drill in to 4 or 5" just because of that thread I sent you guys, looks like it is the way to go. I may find a piece of chrome tape or something to cover the old hole if it whistles.
They wont be here till tomorrow then it rains the next few days so that sucks! plus I will busy with work so I hope I can get them on asap this week.

Hey guys, im going to be making a thread now in the 740 mods sections asking about BCT monster baffle placement. I have researched it more, and people are saying even 6" is what the owner of BCT says, so I dont know what to do, I do know however I dont want to end up with ten holes drilled into my pipes.

Ok guys, If you haven't been looking at the other thread I made, it gives all the details on these baffles from BCT themselves. Now, with that being said, I installed them today.
I ended up drilling them in about 4.5-5 inches from the pipe opening(not the tip of pipe). I originally wanted to go in 6" but you have to take the top pipe off to do that, and I really didn't want to do that. I figured at least its more than 4". Since 3" is the minimum they suggest. The stock holes are about 4" from the tip of the pipes, which is technically about 2" compared to my almost 5".
To be honest, I was not as impressed as I thought I would be. Now, it is only about 45 degrees out right now so not sure if weather effects this. I did not notice any power change, and if anything, the sound was not as loud or about the same as no baffles. However, when revving it in neutral at high RMPs, it sounded a lot more controlled and tuned, pretty badass. Now revving without baffles was badass too, but these have a hot-rod rev note to them. It just was not as crazy as no baffles. Also the bass hallow sound on deceleration was not as deep.
I do feel better having these in though because hopefully they are better for the bike, as they said straight pipes are not that good. So hopefully i'm gaining something if I dont feel it. I have a lot more riding to do though, so that was my review at the 4.5inch spot after a 10 minute ride.
I didnt test drive these at the stock holes, however I popped them in quick and idled a bit with them in. I don't know if I would suggest you guys moving your baffles, but I did noticed these were a lot more muffled at the stock position.

Haha, had to dig this thread up. Though I am a hard man to please with the baffles, Now that I have been actually riding with them, I do think they are giving more mid range power. I honestly didnt notice a difference in loudness, but I did notice a difference in sound, but I have already had people tell me they can hear me coming/leaving a lot louder than before and that it sounds a lot deeper... I also got yelled at by some guys, I guess they were too loud. So I dont know! I guess they are badass!
