What a great day! Filed my taxes 2 weeks, was supposed to get 1700 back, just got a note from the IRS. I calculated wrong and they owe me 2000 instead of 1700! Looks like I may be getting some new mods!

Good for you.

For the 2nd year in a row, my wife and I get money back. Last year we got 5K this year $1200.
Since 2002, we've paid every year, no less than $2000, the most was $5K.

I'd just as soon keep all of my money in an interest drawing account and pay the government at tax time rather than loan them my money interest free. The wife doesn't want to go that route though.

I'd be cool with getting my whole check then just having a flat tax. No paperwork no bullshit.

We got a very nice big return this year, not sure why but I'll take it! Took the family to Disneyland two weeks ago, spent a FULL 5 days...I saw everything, 3 days would have been plenty. I wanted to use some of the money for some mods but my wife would've had my head!

a flat tax would be ok but you would have to still have brackets like 0-10k you owe x$ 11k-20k you owe$$. and so on. if not you will have people making 250k paying the same as people making 40k a year and struggling just to make ends meet. if a flat tax of say 5k a year to the government was owed by each person the same family earning 40k is up shit creek but the same family earning 250k a year it shouldn't be a problem. if there were brackets i wouldn't have a problem flat tax.a precentage would be ok but there would be not be a incentive to invest back into your company. theres no good way to do this people have talked about all kinds of different ways and what would work and what won't work. fuck it lets start over. i want a smok'n hot pres, vice pres, and congress that are naked all the time then we'll talk politics and watch c span

Hey 919Jackass! A flat tax is based on a PERCENTAGE of income not a fixed dollar amount!!! EXAMPLE: Someone making $40,000 pays 10% ($4,000), and someone making $4,000,000 pays 10% ($400,000)!

The best solution yet is the Automated Payment Tax. No forms to file, lower taxes per person, directly proportional to how much you spend, not how much you make, encourages savings -- no real down side. www.apttax.com (http://www.apttax.com)

Since i seem to owe every year i could give a shit less what they pass.... i will always be in the hole. I am currently paying on a IRS debt of 2400.00 because the jackass who prepared our return 2 years ago gave us deductions we didnt qualify for une=der a later review...and what sux is that i asked him at the time if he was sure we qualified for it. Like a dumbass i forgot to changhe my withholding after i got the assessment letter and now i owe another 2K for last year.

WTF i guess you can't get anywhere in life without owing somebody...might as well be the IRS lol
