First off... I'll introduce myself as a NOOB and I'll go fuck off as soon as I get some good info from the "Shadow Gods." Anyhow, I recently bought one of those spicked air cleaner kits for my 98 A.C.E 750. I took it to a Honda dealer to get it jetted to work with the new cleaner, but after 4.5 HRS and $250 they told me that they basically couldn't get it run well with the new intake. Of course I was a little pissed, so after debating with them for a while I rode home with my tail between my legs and my stock intake on my bike. I called around to some other shops and they all gave me decent explanations of why it wouldn't work. I guess I needed to hear something better than "we jut can't get it to work." Has anyone else had this kind of trouble with the spike or similar air cleaner? Any advice other than "Fuck off NOOB" or just trying to return it?

Were they using a stage 3 jet kit?

Thanks for the input gents, but I sucked it up and sent it back to D2Moto.com. I know very little about carbs and jetting, and I couldn't see myself spending any more money on the issue. So fuck it!..... Now I'm moving on to bigger and better! I've done my research on 7deg triple trees and a 2' rear lowering kit and I liked what Morton's has to offer. I'll be ordering it and all of the other crap that goes with it next month and it appears to be a fairly straight-forward install. So the project for May is PIPES! My bike already has COBRA slash-cuts on it. They're loud without a doubt, but it's a higher pitch sound. So my question is will straight (wide-open) pipes have a deeper tone? I'm looking at getting Morton's "Honda Stalker 2's"........ Ok.....now I'm going to go fuck off again!

@ DCfam..... The i'm not sure if you've ever seen the spiked cleaner in person, but it's heavy as hell! It weighs about 6 LBS and it only has one really solid mounting point. Therefor it will bounce while you ride and potentialy fall off. I have highway bars so the tip of it rested on the bars and I put a dab of clear silicone on it to hold it in place. To be honest... I would'nt recommend it now that I've gone through all of the trouble.

they will sound kinda high pitched until you put the 42 slow jets in. my cobra drags sounded high pitched without baffles even jetted until I put the 42 slow jets in. just my .02

that "spiked" intake he's talking about, from the discription, sounds like the Forcewinder only with a spike tip....

I think they make a knock off that is cheaper, but very heavy.
