Does anyone make a Single carb conversion kit for the VT700? Gotta be someone somewhere. Even if I can just get the manifold!
Thanks, Nooby Out! :stunned:

dream on noob.....it's been a thing for years with use Shadow riders with dual carbs to fab manifolds and do the single and only a couple have made it work. To much engineering for my ass. Hey maybe you could fab a manifold and stick a 36mm makuni on it.

other than not having to sync them, and the fact that there are actually two carbs to deal with, i see no benefit in taking somethin that has dual carbs and trying to run a single carb. i just think if it is meant to have dual carbs then leave it that way. jmo

OK lets keep it simple: Guys make bobbers remove the shocks/struts go hard tail stylm put a "bobber" seat, peanut tank, and cool they got a bobber bike, BUT, most harleys run with single carbs , most of the bikes ive seen here are guys trying to make hondas look like harleys, -dont let me piss you off - I like Harleys but i want my Honda to perform just as sweet - If it works for a Harley with a single carb why not Honda Or are we just that different?

first you are not the only one to think of the single carb idea.
many guys on this fourm have thought about it and some have even done it .
second we are not trying to make our bikes look like harleys we are modding our bikes.
if we wanted to look like harleys we would buy harleys. we want a bike that runs more then a week without needing service. as stated above "To much engineering for my ass"
And fyi... Hondas run better. use the search button up top you'll find all kinds of info on the single carb noob!

Exactly - I believe what your sayin 100%. All im sayin is that someone out there did it for the Virago, and it works - would it be that hard to do it for Honda - and why hasnt it been done?

The swap to a single carb isn't any better then having the duel carbs, the hondas run better with the duel carbs, I did the swap on mine and didnt like it , I ran a harley 44mm with 180 main jet just to make up for not having the duel carbs , the bike did better on a dyno with the duel setup, I went through alot adjusting in the single carb, to get it right and still didnt like it , plus it sticks out more , the only thing that is good about the single carb is if you put your motor in a chopper frame and want to clean it up, The harleys are air cooled and are know were built close to the engine on the honda thats why there carbs work good on them , just remember even if someone wants there bike to look like a harley it will never be a harley , also the setup is easy to do , but you have to no how to weld to make your intake , the rest isn't anything but getting your parts and adjustments , witch sometimes will cost you more then what the setup was worth , everyone is different on what they want to do to there bike , but I say if you want to do your own things like this setup then do all the home work before asking , I love this forum , but it seams like everyone anymore sighns up for a hand out , lol just look around and talk with some of the guys on here and show your presence first , then they dont mind helping you out , and if that dont work there is the search button lol ,

I'm guessing, because you are spending too much time wondering and not enough time on R&D! JUST DO IT! then let us all know how it worked out and document what you did so we can all learn from you! Just think of the praise and glory you will recieve!!

If you do figure this out, I would not post results online unless you want to relocate. If the boys at NASA catch wind of it they'll want you working for them. I'm sure they would be very interested in a shuttle launch with a single carb.
