And one asshole to watch over them and tell them that they are fucking it up. :happy2:

According to the book I have for my '83, you've got to remove everything to get to them. Headlight, gauge cluster, etc.

I had my gauge lights out, along with my taillight. I went and bought a bulb for the taillight, with no change - neither lit up.

My solution was to check fuses. I pulled out each fuse, gave it a cleaning with a shop rag, pinched the little fuse clips together a little on the fuse panel and reinstalled....

Bingo!! Taillights and gauges in full working order.

Check your fuses.

It's easy. Disconnect gauge from bike, there is a screw at the base of it, use an allen wrench. Remove the 2 screws on the back of the gauge, move housing out of the way. See the wires, see the boot the wires go into? Grab the boot and pull. Remove bulb and replace. There are 2 bulbs. Reverse order.

By the way, these are dim from the factory. If you wan it a bit brighter get LEDs.

I put an '85 speedo on my '86. Amazingly simple.
