MY GODDAMN BIKE WONT START AGAIN!!

The ehad light wont come on, hasnt for a few days, but now the damn thing wont start. This has GOT to be the fucking ignition switch. Mc, or anyone else, is thee a way to fucking bypass the goddamn ignition switch?? I know it has to be possible, but does anyone have a wiring diagram, or SIMPE instructions for this?

Under the right hand sid cover of the C2 there is a starter relay block with the battery post beside it, you can jump the starter relay at that point to check if it is faulty, not sure about your bike, but I would imagine it would be similar, you just need to fine the relay and positive battery block.

Obviously, this is an electrical connection problem...

The starter uses considerable power to turn over an engine and it wouldn't make sense to route that power and it's associated large diameter wire all the way to the ignition switch. Therefore, this large wire is routed to a relay first and then to the starter. The relay uses small, low current, control wiring to control the high power connection to the starter. The control circuit has the ignition switch in it.

Let's look at the contacts themselves... The ignition switch contacts energize the starter relay. The starter relay contacts connect the battery power to the starter.

So, what's clicking? The ignition switch contacts are held with your fingers using a key... the starter relay is held using power applied to its coil. If that power is not connected fully, the starter relay could energize and then drop out, energize and then drop out, over and over again until you say WTF? and you let go of the ignition switch and try it again. This time, if the problem doesn't repeat itself, the ignition switch provides full power to the starter relay and it switches in the starter power and keeps it there until you let go of the ignition switch.

So, what's the problem? Sounds like a failing contact in the ignition switch to me but then starter relays aren't infallible either! The starter relay isn't a very expensive part and should be much easier to replace than the ignition switch... I would start there! (no pun intended). off the net

also sounds like what happens when your battery is getting ready to die......not enough juice to power the board, then not enough to turn the engine. cold weather tells on a weak battery.

Had a problem like this awhile back. Bike would try and start at first, after a few tries it was dead. Put it on the charger overnight and tried again. First try, would spin but not fire. Dead after that. Took the battery by a buddy's shop, it was flat dead. Replaced and no issues. If you can, take it by a shop and have them test it for free.

could also be the starter relay... To check, Follow the + battery cable to the solenoid. The other thick wire goes to the starter motor. Connect those 2 terminals with a large screw driver. If no more clicking, replace the relay/solenoid.

Friend of mine had the same problem with the head light and all.....ended up he had to replace the start button...... for what ever reason the headlight is wired through the start switch..........

Ok...this bike was wrecked and I had to replace the starter button, it is now located on the side cover, it is a push switch starter button from Auto Zone, it is wired directly to the sylonoid , bad spelling there. The key ignition switch is what I am referring too. I dont exactly know how to get the damn key switch off, but to tell yall the truth I want to leave it there but not use the keyswitch...see?

I just need to know what wire power what, and then I can put in a different ignition switch.

AGAIN-

The button isnt the problem, the KEY ignition switch is. The way I cam to this conclusion , is that the head light stopped coming on, and now the thing wont start, almost as if the key switch isnt even turned on, see?

Thanks for the responses guys, can i get a few more please? THANKS MC AND OTHERS !

Most motorcycles use CDI for ignition. So the ignition switch actually shorts out the ignition to stop the engine running. So just disconnect all the wires from the switch and that should make it run. Just make sure you carry your registration with you, cause it'll look like you hot wired and stole it........know what I mean.

Yeah I do Mc...

What I am thinking is a hidden switch that would control the elctric ignition, like in a homemade racecar...they flip a switch to power the car then hit a button to start the engine. I want to leave the stock keyswitch there, but for show only, and I want to run a hidden switch that no one would know about but me...and you guys I guess...but you get the general idea.

So, I would need to know what wires power what, you see ?

I just know that after I do this mod, then I can run anoher fuse board so that when something electrically goes wrong, than it will be easier to track down the source of said problem.

Thanks again guys. I dont have the money to replace a stock key switch, but I DO have some switches from AutoZone that never got used on my other projects...
