Alright folks. Here is the story as of today. My boss and I have always love to ride.
We've always had scoots, and though some were not always what we wanted.
We still had something to putt around on.I've had several bikes from dirt,to sport,
to cruisers. My boss has had it all from 450's to Goldwings! To a presently owned
Alfa Sport, which I must say for the money is the biggest, hardest running 250 I have ever seen! He also used to work at Titan Motorcycles and got to help build some wicked rides!
Well after getting out of bikes all together about 4 years ago the urge hit me hard to ride again.I bought a nighthawk, then I seen the spirit.Well everyone here knows how that story goes.lol
As for my boss his passion has been to own a CB 750 chopper.Well,we both love to work and cut on bikes,so here we go!!

The Beginning!
Tupper,my boss had a few bikes in the garage for parts, but he wanted a
strong motor for the donor. He found a 78 cb750 in Ohio and had it shipped in.
Here's what we got on that cold ass Thursday afternoon.

Well about three hours later we finally got it out of that (Lock tight!)
crate, and put the bike together for it's first ride. This would be a twenty
minute ride,at 34 degree's in the dark on a bike we hoped we had all the bolts back in. Kids! dont try this at home! lol

03-11-2005, 08:59 PM
I was wondering if you were still going to do this . I can't wait to see were it goes .
Tangledj
03-11-2005, 09:02 PM
The ride turned out fine.Alittle sparking on the front rotor.but we wont go in to that.heeheehee.
It turns out to be a very solid bike! Now to find a new frame.......
Tangledj
03-11-2005, 09:29 PM
The Frame!
Cycle One in Canada has hooked us up!! Great Lady there.
5"stretch in the backbone
2" stretch in the CURVED down tube
36 degree rake
Drop seat
And a sweet little side fill oil tank.

That's it????/ What a tease....
Keep us posted.
Oh Yea BTW I haven't forgotten the pen. Hopefully it'll warm up in the next few days and I can get it done.
Tangledj

Now for things we're still in search of.
High mount tank.
Springer front end
and maybe a seat.Possibilities are endless on the seat.
The link I posted yesterday has some crazy stuff. Then there is Gator,
Then there is the guy who did sinisters',I cant ever spell it right.Motorphycoboy, and maybe even Slith would take a jab.
All of these options while Im trying to build one myself.
Im hoping Ripp can help out on the tank,or I guess well use a tank
from Paughco.Either way,we'll do the paint. Here are a few pics of the first
tank we ever tried to paint.Just a junk tank rattle canned! Just trying to get
ideas of metalics, design, and color over lays.Pretty much just playing around, but everyone love pictures!! :crazy3:
The pic below shows the junk tank with NO clear next to part of my old fender off the spirit.Pretty shiney huh! ah-well it was fun!!

The inline 4 750 is a great engine. My first bike was a 83 CB750 Custom.
Tangledj
03-14-2005, 12:04 AM
No doubt a very tuff engine. You can trick them out to rev like a crotch rocket!
Hope the spirit motors are that strong.

Hey man,We just got the frame friday. It's been sitting at a warehouse for two days and we didnt know it.About fifteen miles from home.My boss "Tupper" had to go get it,or they said it would be monday before they would have it delivered.
Well this has been our long week at work.Had to work all weekend. We got some sleep this morning, and then grinded out the holes for the honda axle.It was set up for a HD axle.I snagged a couple of new pics.We just put a stock 78 rear wheel
on just to get some ideas. We're really looking for a fifteen inch complete wheel.
The wheel in the pics below is a seventeen inch.Still at that, the seat would be less
than twenty three inches high!!
With a stock cb 750 front end this bike will be over seven, and a half foot long!!!
My buddy/boss would really like to run a 15 inch mag wheel on the bike, but spokes arent out of the question. If anyone runs across a complete rear wheel(everything between the swing arms)please let us me know.
We're gonna put a stock front end on tomorrow for mocking up.I'll take pics then too.P.S. Still looking for a high mount tank!!

Tangledj
03-23-2005, 04:32 PM
Heres an idea of whats to come. 7 foot 6 long with a stock front end.
The seat hiegth at the frame is under 20 inches. One pic is my buddy "Tupper"
with his new low baby.

I wonder if I could fit my Spirit in that frame ? You must work for the bank that gave me my creditcard . I could notch out that oilbag and put my battery and elcktrics in there . Modify my springer seat to attach to the frame . Of course I would need new tins . I know of a guy in Jersy that does the best pinstrip job .
I will find the link and post it here .
Mr.Sinister

Old school is about function, and detail isnt it! Not just ad more chrome! lol
Mr.Sinister
03-28-2005, 08:29 AM
I found that link to pinstriping from fab kevin . He makes some solid stuff . I wanted that brass nuks side mount . $450 plus $150 to make an adaptor bracket . I think that was the price he quoted me . It was a while ago . When I got the nuks on my seat I thought to my self that sidemount was clever but you can go to far on a theme .

$1800 minus shipping . Limited options . The biggest stretch in the down tubes is 2.5 inches . Reason the top of our motors is" ugly ". Made in runs of 50 . All sold out until November . Most are sent to Europe .

well we got the motor in,and have been playing with jockey shift ideas, and
tank ideas also.Weve got the pipes just like we want them, but we still need a
stock shadow rear wheel...we think.I've got gobbs of pictures, and took a few of a crazy tank we had tonight. Not the look he's going for,but just set it up for the fun of it.It looks cool as hell, but not our cup of tea...for this project.
He's thinking hard now about the girter front end.I think he may pay the piper and go with it.
I've got a pic of the bike next to his alpha sport just to give a perspective of how low,and long this bike is without a huge rake.I'll show it with any interest.
Comments please folks!

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!
Alright guys excuse all the danglin wires and such.Wanted to make sure everything
was gonna work before there was to much snip and tuck action.Last night the
bike fired on the second try.She acted like she had never been sitting.
It was dark by the time she was all back together, but dont think little shit like
no rear brake much less brake or tail light was going to keep us from taking her
around the block!
Tupper pulled out of the drive and after he went out of site around the first curve
I heard him hammer down!:jamming: A few minutes went by and he was scraping
pipes coming around the curve at the other side of the house.Sounding kickass!!
I said"well whatcha think?""He said I dont know but your about to find out!"
Damn I was scared, this bike is not made for the weak at heart.Complete rigid
setting less than 3" off the ground.High mount take with low rise clip on bars. All this
whille sitting stradle of a big inline four with pods on the carbs, and 4 shorty non baffled pipes!
Damn I did not want to drop my buddies new baby! Other than my cap,and
sunglasses trying to leave out all was good!!
Cant wait to ride in the day time, and get the wires and cables cleaned up!

Tangledj

The headlight is a stock spirit light.Wanted the bike to keep climbing from tail to
nose!
It's the first bike I've ever sat on that you look forward and see the back of the headlight first thing!lol
Still go the big crazy bars he started with.Gonna save them for another project.
May change the complete front end at one point.....well see.
