Well,I started with anodized red. Then I used toyota red pearl medium.
but I redid them so many times Im not sure what went first,or whos on second.lol
The springs are so far away from the fender it's hard to judge color match.Anodized paint on chrome is crazy looking. It changes shades with every glance.I did one spring with 4 coats of meduim pearl candy red.It was the deepest, darkest color I had ever seen!! It was so sweet....to bad it didnt match the bike!lol Had to strip it.Now if your bike is wine colored it would be perfect.
Just play with the toyota red pearl, and the basic red anodized.Trial and error till you find the shade you like.I repainted one coil 5 times!!! I was being really picky.
In my opinion on the red spirits the metal tank paint doesnt match the plastic paint color perfect anyway.Thats just me.
Hope this helps some

He already tried that, but it made his seat look like it had pigtails.

Couldn't resist the seat jab Tangled. As long as you're happy with it who cares what anybody else thinks. Doesn't matter what color it is as long as youor able to ride it!

Hey Tangled,... This information is very helpful,... Sorry for my ignorance,... But what TYPE of paint should I use and do I need to sand the springs so the paint will stick better?,... Acrylic or what?,... Thanks,... YellowMan

I wouldnt charge much to cut them, cause shipping the heavy bastards cost enough. Now the paint Im not sure I would want to do on another red bike.
Im sure my eyes see different from yours, and what I think matches, you might not.
I've got two sets comeing in next week to cut.Let me get caught up,and we can work something out.You could always cut them yourself. It's not reall y that huge of a deal if you build a compressor.Just let me know.

There is your need to be perfect again . I could cut them myself I just have to build that compresor thingy and borrow a drimel from my grampa . I have yet to even take off my shocks andhave a good look at them . The weathers been so nice all I do is ride . I really like the look of the red springs real trick . If I cut them , am I going to need to put on a sidemount ? Remove some sub frame ?

You wont need to do anything to the subframe if you cut them all the way down.
Now if you just take out a couple of coils you can still run the Billski mod.

I plan on running a sidemount in the future . It is just time and money , like tattoos . I am bidding on one , Ebay , right now . And some mirrors .
