1100 mods all engines dual pin or single

If any of you out there want to breath new fire out of your pipes on your 1100's these are the things that can be done.
1) Camshafts alone will add about 10 hp and 10 lbs of torque
2) Pistons of 10.5 to 1 about the same as cams
3) Both cams and pistons 18 hp and 20 lbs of torque.

Yes you have to tweek the carbs to suite what you done. I have also found that of you put bigger than factory diameter pipes you should hone out the port to match it to get the best performance. I run my own pipes of stainless polished on the outside to chrome and cermamic coat the inside on a 2 inch open drag pipes. I like em loud but these have a tone all of their own. Throaty and deep.

Allready got some drag-racing high compression pistons for it, but where to get the cams?
And do I need new cams if I install the pistons?

Megacycle in California does the cams. You send them yours they regrind them and do an excellent job. They probably run over 400 bucks but are well worth it. On the pistons if you put them in you need to keep a tight tolerance on the gap. I keep mine to 0.0015 to 0.0025. Otherwise you get a piston slap. Where did you get yours from? I think I have one set of 10.5 to 1 left. They are a dome piston and keep the same deck hieght as the stock piston which is 0.100. The other one I use is a dish piston with .020 deck. That one is a higher compression though. I have used two types of rings that are thicker than stock. One is chrome moly the other stainless. I have less a seating problem with the stainless one.
Since your going all the way down to the pistons might as well add the cams. Dialing them in an art all by itself. I have made a special engine stand to take the engine in and out of the frame that works pretty good. If you want some tips on that let me know.
