I was watching the news just now and a female motorcycle rider here in Seattle fell off a freeway bridge fell, about forty feet into Lake Washington, when people saw her bike the tail light was still on and no one was near the bike, the local news (King 5) had there chopper in the air and it showed her helmet floating in the water, then they panned over to a small island bank and showed her lying on the shore, she swam to the bank with broken bones, and the fire department here used a rescue boat to get her and take her to shore where they could transport her to the local hospital. What a lucky woman, she was wearing all of her protective clothing from what I did see in the shot of her.

Just a update to the story, she did not break any bones just bruised up, and claims that the soft armor in her first gear jacket helped keep her afloat. (who knew) and to top it all off, the state patrol cited her for failure to maintain a motor vehicle to avoid a colishion.

Too bad she didn't do that up here, because apparently if you tell the cops that you didn't mean to do it, they don't charge you. At least not for a hit and run with video evidence.
Good to hear she made it out alive, it's a shame the state patrol decide to lay charges, hopefully she fights it and a sane judge throws it out of court.

I don't get it either, but Washington is pretty weird about traffic laws no one can be around and you hit something and they cite you.
