I want to put some bags on my 97 1100. What is the largest size that fits? Do I have to get the supports or are the ones that come on the bike sufficient? My thought is that Honda puts them there so that passengers don't get their feet caught in the back wheel.

The stock supports seam to work just fine for me.

Actually, I did search the message board. I did not find the answer to my question. If I missed it, please provide a link to it. All I found was a reference to two brand.

best way is to go to a place that sells them and most of the time they'll let ya take the bags to your bike and try them on. if you can't do that just go out to the bike and use a ruler or tape measure and see.
