How to put a 21" wheel on a 96 VT1100C.

I recently came across a 96 VT1100C and I am trying to figure out how to get a 21" rim under the front of this thing without using duct tape and speaker wire. I am also wondering if there is a spoke wheel from a different model shadow that would work for the back. Anyone know how to downsize jpeg pics so that I can post them on here. The website tells me my pics are to big.

You can get a FREE program to downsize pictures by typing "PIXresizer" into Google. Its a great program that's easy to use (just like duct tape and speaker wire). Use the search button to get info on the wheel swap (upper right side of screen).

go grab a wideglide 21" rim, have your front axle turned down to 3/4", measure for spacers, order spacers, and mount! might have to shim your caliper over a bit with a few washers, but not too big of a deal....

Thanks for the help cramer. I want to keep a gallery of my bike as it goes through the transformation. Hey purp, does your speedo work? What size wheel u got on the back? I talked to a guy at a machine shop today and he said no prob. I've always thought this was suppose to be tough.

got a 21" HD wheel in my shad600..
but i did when thru hell lot of works for it..& yet i dun seem to see it as 100% workable
1. i have to trim off the standard shaft to fit in to the wheel
2. i have to get custom engineer spacer for it
3. i have to place a spacer for my brake to perfectly grip the disc
4. i have to custom the fender to fit the 21"
5. finally it works but then again, i got to sacrifice my speedo meter..coz the standard one does not fit to the 21"...:pissed:

no speedo for me...i've got a bicycle speedo that i'm gonna try and make work, not sure if it's gonna be workable or not...this is the speedo-had it for an old bicycle and sold the bike. kept the speedo.

Runnin with no speedo is not really that big of a deal...usually you can tell how fast you're goin just by engine sound/gear choice, and the flow of traffic..

Pyrplhaze - owh..i see...i did thought of it...but then again most bicycle speedo only reach to the maximum of 90km..but then again u are quite right..by listening to the engine...u can basically feel it..is just dat some laws apply in certain country does not allowed one not to have a speedo...:thumbsup:
