What do you all think ? It seems that a good number of the Valkyrie guys have been going to a car tire on the rear and lovin it !!
Would this work on 550 pound 1100 ? Anybody tried it yet or know someone who has ?
My Metz 880's still have plenty of tread on them, so I'll have to wait a while.
I guess that gives me plenty of time to look into it !!!!

I wouldn't do it, but that's just me. A car tire isn't designed to lean like a bike tire. That's why car tires are squared off and bike tires have a curved sidewall. You lean it too far into a corner and the car tire isn't designed to give traction on it's sidewall, that spells disaster to me.

Well after reading that.....I wouldn't do it. Though according to what's there apparantly they are OK. I would have to see some actual tests done for comparison. Not just some folks opinions. Like a head to head test, using the same bikes, conditions, roads, etc. Although we probably won't ever see something like that since most magazines get a ton of advertising money from MOTORCYCLE tire companies. It would be interesting though.

I'd suppose the efficiency factor would be in the neighborhood of 99% if it were mounted to a drag bike or a monster machine like the Boss, but mounted on a street machine....well....not me.
