It seems every time you turn on the news now someone is getting killed in an accident. From what I hear, the other driver wasa firefighter in the same town.
This one is really sad http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2005/11/04/pregnant_motorist_dies_in_accident/?rss_id=Boston+Globe+--+City/Region+News
They said the cars were unrecognizable. Figures, the one day I didn't buy the paper.

Saw the story on the news a little while ago about the police officer that was killed. The guy that hit him was a volunteer firefighter from the same town. And to top it off I know him. Him and a couple of other guys from their department hung around talking and drinking with us after our fire department muster the last couple of years. It's a shame, two departments are a wreck right now.

That really is a shame. Unfortunately, things like that happen everyday. Really bad when it hits home...

He's claiming he wasn't drunk. His lawyer said he had been up for over 24 hours. He doesn't argue the fact that he had been drinking. But he claims he only had 3 or 4 beers over the couse of about 4 hours. He refused to give a blood sample to police so we'll never know.
Like I told my girlfriend, I couldn't imagine killing someone in my car. Top that off by it being someone you know. Whatever the outcome, I'm betting he won't ever get another good nights sleep.
He was released from the hospital today and released on $10,000 cash bail.

The police chief from that town hit it on the head when he said people who drive while drunk are selfish.

I hate how someone can take a life in this country and eventually end up walking free after doing some jail time.
Sorry to hear about your loss Frank.
