WONDER WHAT THE OUTCOME WOULD BE IF YOU HAVE
A BOOTLEG INTAKE ,BURBS PIPES,INSTALLED.
AND I WONDER IF YOU USE THE STOCK JET SETUP OR IF IT CAN BE USED

There was some discussion on the pink side about it a couple of years ago. Some said it worked well, others said it didn't. Kinda scared me away from it. The idea is sound. Give it as much fuel as it needs.

What is dial a jet ?

It is a jet that you can turn or "dial" to increase or decrease the size of the metering orifice to increase or decrease fuel thru the main jet.

Hhhuuummmm----sounds Like Its Not To Popular, seems To Me That
After Mods And Jetting, you Would Be Able To Fine Tune With A Dial A Jet
To Get The Most Out Of The Engine.-(what Do You Think?)-

Razor,
I would never spend the money on one! The way they work is off of vacuum. I'm not sure if the dial part regulates vacuum or the orifice size, but it's not the best way of correcting the A/F mixture. It's more crude than fixed main jets! With carbs, the best you can do as far as fine tuning your Air/Fuel ratio, is an over-all average across the RPM range. At some RPM's the engine will tend to be lean and at others it will tend to be rich. The only induction system that can regulate your A/F ratio perfectly is an electronic fuel injection system, carburetors only get close. The dial-a-jet is less accurate than the carb itself. If this piece was so good, you'd see it on everything at the race track. Actually, you'll never find it on any engine that's winning races! That's why I said spend your money on the jet kit, whether it be a Stage 1 or a Stage 3, they're more accurate and Dynojet has done the research for you to know what jets and needle settings you'll need for your engine's modifications. The dial-a-jet was invented for those that are intimidated by carburetors, those that don't want to get inside theirs. It was never meant to be used in conjunction with an aftermarket jet kit.

UNDERSTANDABLE NAV.BUT MY QUESTION TO YOU IS, ASSUMING ,THAT YOU
ALLREADY HAVE, LETS SAY A STAGE 3 JET KIT INSTALLED. "what if" YOU
INSTALL THE DIAL-A-JET WILL IT DO ANY FINE TUNEING AT ALL???

No! The Stage 3 kit, if you have the mods that warrant it, is all you need! The dial-a-jet would just make the engine overly rich! The dial-a-jet is for those that don't want to do the rejet. It's not the best approach to take, but it's better than running the engine too lean! For the best results, you install the Dynojet or Factory Pro jet kits.

What all is in the stage 3 kit? What mods warrant it? Pipes and Hypercharger?

The Stage 3 kit is not available for a 750 from Dynojet, Thunder Mfg. puts it together for their intakes and air filters that they sell. What it consists of for a 750 is the needles for an ACE( kit # 1183) and the 134 and 138 jets, plus instructions.

So why is it so expensive? Do the baffles have to be out?

FP kit was 90 bucks!A couple little metal things like jets , needles , titanium hex bolts for my carb instead of cheap screws that strip .Oh and 2 count um two tiny FP stickers .

I am going to put some baffles in my pipes . Small ones just to get a little more back pressure . I have been saying that for 8 months now . I will get off my ass and do it some day .

We're in the wrong business, Sin! Instead of movies, we should sell little metal things like jets, needles, titanium hex bolts and FP stickers! SUKAS!

Why do you want some more back pressure? What will that do for you? Why would baffles that are bigger than the head pipes coming out of the engine (like my V&H cruisers) affect backpressure?

I don't have tiny head pipes . I have 1 3/4 inch open pipes with torque cones . A little back pressure would richen up my idle circut and give me more punch when I am not drag racing . Open pipes work best if you give them alot of throttle . I would like more power when I am idleing along in second or third and decide to go go go .

I'd think if the Dial-a-puppy really did any good or increased response/performance that it would be used in the automotive world as well.
Jet'em properly and you should'nt have to bother with'em again.

I am one of those assholes who will try anything just once. I bought a Dial-A-Jet, and will put it on this weekend. I bought one because I have 2 friends that have them. One races ATVs and the other rides a cruiser. They both said they have experienced a noticeble difference in top end and overall transition troughout each gear. The cruiser had miledge 30%. I am not expecting a huge difference, but hey, what the fuck?
I will keep you guys in the loop.
